In a horrific display of barbarism, a masked person claiming to be Abu Mus’ad Al Zarqawi slaughtered American contractor Nick Berg. Sitting in a chair, Berg made the following statement: “My name is Nick Berg, my father’s name is Michael, my mother’s name is Susan,” the man said on the video. “I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in … Philadelphia.”
The video then changes to a scene of masked men, with Berg sitting in front of them. After reading a statement, the masked men were seen pulling the man to his side and putting a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as the men cut his head off, shouting “Allahu Akbar!” – “God is great.” They then held the head out before the camera.
Despite proof on the above video of his son’s beheading by Al-Zarqawi, Michael Berg prefers to blame George W. Bush for his son’s execution.
This schmuck has no anger for the people who beheaded his son and sent the video around the world. Somehow I think the terrorists got the wrong Berg.

I feel any one who says this video is fake is mentally unstable. The argument that there is no squirting of blood from the arteries is a joke. There is plenty of blood coming out of the body, and the video quality is so poor you would be unable to see arterial spray anyway. And as I read through the Quran, I’m noticing that there seems to be at least one verse that could be considered evil by modern, civilized standards on every single page. I thought that the Old Testament of the Bible was evil, but this takes the cake.

The “Christians that committed atrocities”, had no authority by the New Testament to do so. There is no command in the NT to wage war of any physical kind.
The qu’ran, however, is full of passages condoning violent acts against unbelieving people.
The depth of hatred in its words for unbelievers cannot be denied.
A lot of Muslims are indeed at odds with their own religion. The ones who are kind hearted, charitable people have trouble with the violent passages, and pass them off as “spiritual”, or “that was a different time”.Some are not promoting taqqyia, but truly believe this, and stay in constant combat with the precepts in the qu’ran.

Slavery was a fact in the early centuries where feodality was the ruling power. But it was only the Americans who burned them, tortued them. Afro Blacks were not equal citizens till the 1980′s. The Bible Matta which you are referring to was most probably written in 325 AD in council of Nicaea which is located in Iznik modern Turkey. Only after they have grown dissatisfied with the religions familiar to them, meaning Judaism, Christianity and all the fashionable “-isms”—Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism (and, as my young daughter once added, “tourism”)—do they consider Islam.
Perhaps other religions do not answer the big questions of life, such as “Who made us?” and “Why are we here?” Perhaps other religions do not reconcile the injustices of life with a fair and just Creator. Hence, it is normally the last religion seekers investigate.
Another problem is that by the time non-Muslims examine Islam, other religions have typically heightened their skepticism: If every “God-given” scripture we have ever seen is corrupt, how can the Islamic scripture be different? If charlatans have manipulated religions to suit their desires, how can we imagine the same not to have happened with Islam?
The answer can be given in a few lines, but takes books to explain. The short answer is this: There is a God. He is fair and just, and He wants us to achieve the reward of paradise. However, God has placed us in this worldly life as a test, to weed out the worthy from the unworthy. And we will be lost if left to our own devices. Why? Because we don’t know what He wants from us. We can’t navigate the twists and turns of this life without His guidance, and hence, He has given us guidance in the form of revelation.
Sure, previous religions have been corrupted, and that is one of the reasons why we have a chain of revelation. Ask yourself: wouldn’t God send another revelation if the preceding scriptures were impure? If preceding scriptures were corrupted, humans would need another revelation, to keep upon the straight path of His design.
So we should expect preceding scriptures to be corrupted, and we should expect the final revelation to be pure and unadulterated,for we cannot imagine a loving God leaving us astray. What we can imagine is God giving us a scripture, and men corrupting it; God giving us another scripture, and men corrupting it again … and again, and again. Until God sends a final revelation He promises to preserve until the end of time.
Muslims consider this final revelation to be the Holy Quran. You consider it … worth looking into. So let us return to your question: Why I have chosen Islam?

Islam condemns all forms of violence against women. The basic Islamic premise of equality between women and men cannot be achieved so long as violence against women persists.

(Quran 30:21). Moreover, the Quran repeatedly warns against the use of injurious statements by a husband against his wife. (Quran 58:2-4).
Therefore the example phrase which you gave (Qur’an 4:34) is definiting the limits of a man if he has a conflict with his wife. Its really funny that you are disregarding the other phrases in Quran where it is clearly telling men have to take care of their women and respect them.

Female genital mutilation, another form of violence against women, has no basis in Islam. Rather, it is a cultural practice which must be eliminated through education and the empowerment of women.
Likewise, forced prostitution is another form of violence against women with no basis in Islam and which must be eradicated through the empowerment of women.
Islam’s mandate of equality between women and men necessitates that all forms of violence against women be eradicated, for so long as women suffer abuses, women cannot achieve their full potential as free and equal members of society.
