A chain-reaction crash involving a car and at least three horse-drawn carriages seriously injured three people in Philadelphia’s historic district Monday.
NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Council Speaker Christine Quinn have blocked not only the popular bill to ban horse-drawn carriages, but every other bill introduced at City Hall that would protect the city’s animals.
Mayor Bloomberg has purchased and continues to buy countless $$million dollar horses for his daughter, Georgina, a top Grand Prix rider. He could easily afford give every carriage horse driver a lump sum that would support them for the rest of their lives so they could retire. But Bloomberg wants these horses to stay in NYC because the tourists enjoy them.
