Ordinary ‘infidels’ won’t be able to throw ham sandwiches or pig’s blood into the foundation of the Ground Zero mosque as the Islamists won’t let us near it. Hopefully, construction crews will do it on our behalf. However, there ARE other ways to delay, impede, and stonewall completion of the victory mosque. They will never be able to have a grand opening on 9/11/11 as they have planned but might be able to have a groundbreaking ceremony on that day. And make no mistake, 9/11 IS the day they have chosen to spit in America’s face. AGAIN!
ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME
What would happen if all the “trade unions and stores refused to sell anything to or for the building of a mosque on or near hallowed U.S. soil in New York City? I heard a New York caller on the Rush Limbaugh show say there is a movement afoot amongst union construction workers there to boycott any and all work to construct this insult. That is to say “not lift one hammer or nail” in an effort to construct this monstrosity. A cconstruction professional I know suggested that crews could cut threaded rod into 2″ pieces and drop them into electrical conduits which would prevent electrical wires from being passed through which would necessitate all the concrete to be torn apart in order to redo them.
FAITH FREEDOM Since the government cannot stop the project, there is no other alternative but to arouse public sentiment and lead them to non-cooperate with the project. Firstly, if all the construction companies of the US refuse to undertake the project, and secondly, if all the American transport companies refuse to carry the building materials to the spot, then and then only the Cordoba Institute would be forced to reject the project.
Free Republic So let’s play the same childish game as the liberals, and BOYCOTT NEW YORK CITY, or we could wait until they start digging to see if they encounter another historical ship buried that was used as landfill and declare the property an archeologically historical site, or just let them start to build it and we’ll see how long it takes and how much it costs after all the delays, and if they do finally succeed in building it then we let them fill the damn thing and we’ll help make it go away!
Where do they think they are going to get the manpower and materials and equipment to build this damn thing? Will American labor unions really step in and build this for them? Will American building materials suppliers really be willing to supply everything they need to finish this? I say we get the word out to our own people that we’ll be watching how and who will be assisting these people in this massive construction project! LET’S REMIND THEM THIS IS STILL AMERICA! Let’s see what happens to their budget when they have to ship in all the materials and labor necessary!
NATIONAL REVIEW Americans should make their displeasure with this project felt economically and socially: No contractor, construction company, or building-trades union that accepts a dime of the Cordoba Initiative’s money should be given a free pass—nobody who sells them so much as a nail, or a hammer to drive it in with. This is an occasion for boycotts and vigorous protests — and, above all, for bringing down a well-deserved shower of shame upon those involved with this project, and on those politicians who have meekly gone along with it. It is an indecent proposal and an intentional provocation.
REUTERS A planned mosque and Muslim cultural center near the site of the September 11 attacks which has triggered national debate faced a new hurdle as a lawsuit was filed aiming to block the controversial project. The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday by the American Center for Law & Justice in Washington whose mission is defending religious freedom, challenges Tuesday’s decision by the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission not to grant landmark status to the 1857 Italianate building currently on the site. “This issue has nothing to do with religious freedom,” said Brett Joshpe, a lawyer for ACLJ. “Given what the (planned new) building represents, the placement of the project at that location is inappropriate and inflammatory.”
Warrior Talk Does anyone know which firms are building the the mosque and which firms are supplying the materials, tools, etc? Which trade unions are involved? There is another level to this fight that can be won. That site can sit empty for the next hundred years. There will be a long slog of building permits, insurance bonds, and requirements for union labor to be traversed. Could be awhile, several tactical delays allowing for a strategic reset.
Eric Brockway ATTENTION: NYC Construction Trades: Hey, nobody could blame you for taking a job there if the union hall calls you. You have to put food on the table, right? It’s an important building; hey they’re planting the “flag of Islam” near Ground Zero, what could be more important than that? It’ll be important to take your time and do the job right. But, do make sure you put your time to good use, wouldn’t want any cost overruns or delays.
Also, I know a pork chop sandwich or baby back ribs are awesome in the lunchbox, but after all, it is a mosque, you want to make sure you get all your trash picked up after lunch and break, wouldn’t want any stray pork products accidentally getting stuck in the walls or buried somewhere under the foundation, would we?
And rumors about pig’s blood in the mortar mix, I hope there isn’t a respectable union hand who’d evenconsider such nonsense.
Well, if the mosque absolutely has to be built near Ground Zero, and you do end up on that particular site, I hope you stay employed for a good long time before the job comes to an end, and whoever’s really financing the construction of that particular mosque gets more for their money than they ever thought possible.
WIZBANG Americans will see that the only thing that matters to the Mosque backers is that they get their way, that they get this building in this place (as others have noted, a building that not only was damaged in the attack, but was literally bathed in the ashes and dust from the attacks that killed almost 3,000 people) on their time frame — and the concerns of anyone else be damned. They not only refused to discuss the sensitivities of New Yorkers (and, for that matter, all Americans), they refused to even acknowledge that they even existed.
This is an incredibly valuable experience. It is Islam — militant, aggressive, in-your-face Islam — at its purest, putting the lie to the “Islam is a religion of peace” canard. This is a reminder that in the Islamic world, the unbelievers have no say, no value, no rights except what Muslims deem to grant them.
Charles Krauthammer stated that the mosque will not actually be built. He said that New Yorkers will simply refuse to cooperate — construction companies will decline to build, banks choose to not finance, contractors not deliver, and the like.
I think he’s wrong. That might occur, but I think the mosque backers will find a way around it. They will find some builders who they can bully or bribe into doing the work. Some bank — probably one based in the Middle East, but with a New York presence — will handle the financial paperwork. (They’ve already got the cash, but won’t say who gave it to them.) Threats of discrimination lawsuits will get them the supplies they need. Cries of “persecution” and “backlash” will get them police protection from “potentially violent” protesters. And so on. The opening might be delayed past the 9/11/11 scheduled date (A Sunday, of all days), but I’m fairly certain that some kind of ceremony will be held on that day anyway.
No, the main thing the mosque will do is provide those of us who oppose militant Islam with a target. A focus. A centralized point.
This victory by militant Islam will, in the long run, cost them. It will stand as a constant reminder that Islam is not interested in co-existing with the “unbelievers” except on Islam’s terms. That sensitivity and respect and tolerance is a one-way street — we owe it to Islam, but it owes no such things to us.
And now the people of New York have a place to hold their protests the next time another atrocity is committed in the name of Allah. (That it will happen is pretty much a given.) We now have a place to show up with our giant Mohammed cartoons, a place where we can demonstrate our “respect” for the (burning) Koran, a place where we can demand that the Muslims of New York City show where their sympathies lie — with those who act in their faith’s name, or civilization.
In other words, where we can act like a lot of Muslims do on a fairly regular basis, in full protection of the law.
Enjoy this victory, enemies of civilization. It will turn to ashes in your mouth. Ashes like those that once covered that site. Ashes created by those claiming to act in the name of Allah. Ashes from the remains of two great buildings and almost 3,000 innocent people.
Ashes, ashes, all fall down.
