IMAM Bloomberg to host party for Ground Zero Victory Mosque Developer who threatened a Canadian Muslim woman for opposing the mosque

The developer of a controversial Islamic center planned to be built near ground zero is expected to attend an Iftar dinner hosted by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The guest list for the annual dinner Tuesday includes Sharif el-Gamal, the developer (muslim-woman-who-opposes-ground-zero-victory-mosque-is-threatened-by-the-developer) of a lower Manhattan complex that includes a mosque, an dDaisy Khan, a co-founder of the group planning the mosque (Who called opposition to the victory mosque “hatred of all Muslims, worse than Nazi Germany antisemitism).

The proposed community center and mosque is two blocks north of theWorld Trade Center site. Opponents say it is insensitive to build an Islamic center so close to a site where nearly 3,000 people were killed by Islamic extremists.

Bloomberg has been among the most outspoken supporters of the mosque. He says people should be allowed to worship wherever they wish. Iftar refers to the evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. NBC NY H/T ATLAS SHRUGS

HUFFPO In a rousing address before a predominantly Muslim audience Tuesday night, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg reaffirmed his commitment to the controversial (Triumphal) Islamic cultural center near the former site of the World Trade Center.

Bloomberg, who hosted the annual Ramadan Iftar dinner at his official Gracie Mansion residence, did not back away from his position as the most vocal and public defender of the so-called “Ground Zero mosque.” If anything, he couched his defense of the project in even deeper moral and political terms, calling the Cordoba House a telling illustration of intrinsic American principles and a valuable tool in the war on terror.
