Palestinians? WHAT Palestinians? History confirms Newt Gringrich got it right

Newt Gingrich said: “Palestinians ARE an invented people who want to destroy Israel.” In fact, until Yassir Arafat dubbed them that, they were just plain old generic Arabs living in an area called Palestine.

HAARETZ  U.S. Republican presidential candidate differs with official U.S. policy that respects the Palestinians as a people deserving of their own state based on negotiations with Israel.

“Remember, there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire” until the early 20th century, Gingrich said.I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs, and who were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places, and for a variety of political reasons we have sustained this war against Israel now since the 1940s, and it’s tragic,” he said.

And  to no one’s  suprise, we get the expected Palestinian outraged response toNewt’s remarks:  Top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat,  “Such thinking should be an alarm and concern for the world,” said Erakat, calling it “the most racist statement I’ve ever seen.”  (And when you can show us what race Palestinians, or even muslims are, maybe we won’t laugh you off the stage)

There has never been a civilization or a nation referred to as “Palestine” and the very notion of a “Palestinian Arab nation” having ancient attachments to the Holy Land going back to time immemorial is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon the world! There is not, nor has there ever been, a distinct “Palestinian” culture or language. Further, there has never been a Palestinian state governed BY Arab Palestinians in history, nor was there ever a serious Arab-Palestinian national movement until 1964… three years BEFORE the Arabs of “Palestine” lost the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and Gaza as a result of the 1967 Six-Day War (which the Arabs started). Even the so-called leader of the “Palestinian” people, Yasser Arafat, is EGYPTIAN! In short, the so-called Arab “Palestinians” are a manufactured people…a people with no history and no authenticity… whose sole purpose for existence is to destroy the Jewish State!  READ MORE

“The Palestinians want their own country. There’s just one thing about that, there are no Palestinians.”

By: Larry Miller

“A brief overview of the situation is always valuable, so as a service to all who still don’t get it, I now offer you the story of the Middle East in just a few paragraphs, which is all you Really need.

Here we go:

The Palestinians want their own country. There’s just one thing about that: There are no Palestinians. It’s a made up word. Israel was called Palestine for two thousand years.

Like “Wiccan,” “Palestinian” sounds ancient but is really a modern invention. Before the Israelis won the land in wars perpetrated on them by their Arab neighbors, Gaza was owned by Egypt, and there were no “Palestinians” then, and the West Bank Was owned by Jordan, and there were no “Palestinians” then. As soon as the Jews took over and started growing oranges as big as basketballs, what do you know, say hello to the Palestinians,” weeping for their deep bond with their lost ”land” and “nation.”

So for the sake of honesty, let’s not use the word “Palestinian” any more to describe these delightful folks, who dance for joy at our deaths until someone points out they’re being taped. Instead, let’s call them what they are: “Other Arabs Who Can’t Accomplish Anything In Life And Would Rather Wrap Themselves In The Seductive Melodrama Of Eternal Struggle And Death.”

I know that’s a bit unwieldy to expect to see on CNN.

So how about this, then: “Adjacent Jew-Haters?”

Okay, so the Adjacent Jew-Haters want their own country. Oops, just one more thing. No, they don’t. They could’ve had their own country any time in the last forty years. But if you have your own country, you have to have traffic lights and garbage trucks and Chambers of Commerce, and, worse, you actually have to figure out some way to make a living. That’s no fun. No, they want what all the other Jew-Haters in the region want: Israel.

They also want a big pile of dead Jews, of course — that’s where the real fun is — but mostly they want Israel. Why? For one thing, trying to destroy Israel – or “The Zionist Entity” as their textbooks call it — for the last sixty years has allowed the rulers of Arab countries to divert the attention of their own people away from the fact that they’re the blue-ribbon most illiterate, poorest, and tribally backward people on God’s Earth. And if you’ve ever been around God’s Earth, you know that’s really saying something.

It makes me roll my eyes every time one of our pundits waxes poetic about the great history and culture of the Muslim Middle East. Unless I’m missing something, the Arabs haven’t contributed anything to the world since they added the numeral zero to Algebra (which they didn’t, but they pretend to have).

Chew this around and spit it out: Five hundred million Arabs; five million Jews. Try to think of all the Arab countries as a football field, and Israel as a pack of matches sitting in the middle of it. And now these same folks swear that if Israel gives them half of that pack of matches, everyone will be pals.

Really? Wow, what neat news. Hey, but what about the string of wars to obliterate the tiny country and the constant din of rabid blood oaths to drive every Jew into the sea? Oh, that? We were just kidding.

Just reverse the numbers. Imagine five hundred million Jews and five million Arabs. I was stunned at the simple brilliance of it. Can anyone picture the Jews strapping belts of razor blades and dynamite to themselves? Of course not. Or marshaling every fiber and force at their disposal for generations to drive a tiny Arab State into the sea? Nonsense. Or dancing for joy at the murder of innocents? Impossible. Or spreading and believing horrible lies about the Arabs baking their bread with the blood of children? Disgusting. No, as you know, left to themselves in a world of peace, the worst Jews would ever do to people is debate them to death.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

It should be remembered that in 1918, with the fall of the Ottoman Empire, Britain and France were handed more than 5,000,000 square miles to divvy up and 99+% was given to the Arabs to create countries that did not exist previously. Less than 1% was given as a Mandate for the re-establishment of a state for the Jews on both banks of the Jordan River. In 1921, to appease the Arabs once again, another three quarters of that less than 1% was given to a fictitious state called Trans-Jordan.

Disregarding the fact that Gaza, Judea and Samaria are part of the land which was allocated for the creation of the Jewish state by the League of Nations, the US pressures Israel to negotiate with the enemy and expedite a two-state solution.

Ask yourself, why in all that extensive Arab land, could not a few measly square miles been allocated for a Palestinian state? Why must only the tiny State of Israel be expected to give up the little land that it has?

True, so true, so VERY true. This melodrama is thoroughly explained in reputable history texts. Maybe that’s why so much moslemite efforts are being expended to rewrite history in textbooks sent to the U.S.
The saddest thing about this mess is that the state of Israel welcomes arabs who obey the law. They have every opportunity to participate in the economic and legal process and accumulate wealth thereby.

  4. Sarah Islam says:

This is a silly claim. The name Palestinian is the westernized version of the word Philistia, named for the Philistines who (among other peoples) have lived in the Jordan Rift Valley for centuries. Etiologically, there have been people who have called this area their home for hundreds if not thousands of years and under the rule of many different empires. But that’s not the point. Since the middle of the last century these people have identified themselves as Palestinians, and that is important now. You can say whatever you’d like about the origin of a people, but it does not change the facts now, and these facts must be dealt with prudently as the are. Call the Palestinians whatever you want, but they are still there and the situation is just as problematic as before.

Thank you for posting. The devil amazingly has blinded the eyes of people through the media’s lies regarding Israel and the myth of Palestine. It amazes me that people can be duped into believing the lying left-wing loon media instead of seeking out the truth of History for themselves. Anti-semitic rhetoric is on the rise & will continue. We are watching Biblical Prophecy come true right before our eyes. I, personally am doing everything I can do to spread the truth about Israel & the Religion of Islam amongst my family & friends & I will go to my grave doing so. As a 68 yr old grandmother I will never shut my mouth. Never! Ever! From a totally non-politically correct Christian in Canada.

    1) What does Israel mean to you?
    2) Do you feel you have a personal connection to the people in Israel?
    3) What does being Jewish, or Jewishness mean to you?
    4) What is your faith, and how do you understand the Jewish people in the light of your faith?
    5) If you support Israel and/or Zionism, why?

Thank you for anyone willing to answer these honestly. I am collaborating with a Jewish scholar researching antisemitism and the Israel/Palestine controversy.

One alert for you, Ms. BNI: Sudan is no longer one but TWO countries (even if the frontiers aren’t quite yet decided). The Southern Sudan is NOT an Arab or Muslim country – it’s Christian and animist (pagan), even though the northern Sudanese would almost certainly love to invade and subdue it all for themselves and destroy all the non-Muslims there.

Also, the following African countries could as well be shaded as green for Arab (or at least Muslim): Mali, Niger, Chad, perhaps Senegal and certainly the Spanish-Sahara (which I think Morocco is going to get, even if it means a prolongation of the war with Mauritanian for it). Probably Eritrea and eventually Ethiopia may well end up the same way, alas…

Newt is more correct than he knows.

Sorry BNI if this is info overload, please feel free to edit or not post it.

The term “Arab,” as well as the presence of Arabs in the Syrian desert and the Fertile Crescent, is first seen in the Assyrian sources from the 9th century BCE .
In recent years genetic surveys suggest that, paternally, most of the various Jewish ethnic divisions and the Palestinians and Levantines are genetically close to each other .

Genetic evidence in support of historical records shows the majority of Muslim Palestinians descend from local inhabitants, Christians and Jews, who had converted after the Islamic conquest in the seventh century CE.
They also found substantial genetic overlap between Muslim Palestinians and Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, though with some significant differences that might be explainable by immigration of Arab tribes in the first millennium.

Semitic populations, including Jews, usually possess an excess of J1 Y chromosomes compared to other populations.J1 is most common in the southern Levant, as well as Syria, Iraq, Algeria, and Arabia, and drops at the border of non-semitic areas like Turkey .

Haplogroup J1 includes the modal haplotype of the Galilee Arabs and of Moroccan Arabs and the sister Modal Haplotype of the Cohanim, the “Cohan Modale Haplotype”, representing the descendents of the priestly caste Aaron.
This result is consistent for all Jewish populations around the world. The researchers estimated that the most recent common ancestor of modern Kohanim lived between 1000 BCE (roughly the time of the Biblical Exodus) and 586 BCE, when the Babylonians destroyed the First Temple. They found similar results analyzing DNA from Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews. The scientists estimated the date of the original priest based on genetic mutations, which indicated that the priest lived roughly 106 generations ago, between 2,650 and 3,180 years ago depending whether one counts a generation as 25 or 30 years.
These Jews belong to the haplotypes J1e and J2a. However, more recent research has shown that many ethnic groups in the Middle East and Mediterranean area also share this genetic profile.

  12. Sarah Islam says:

Holycow, in good faith I will answer your questions. I know I will be called a liar, ignorant, etc but I will answer honestly as I wish my questions would be answered honestly.

    1) I am a Muslim because connecting to God has made me a better, kinder person. With God’s help I have quit being self destructive, unhappy, etc.

    2) I am connected to the religion in that I do the obligatory activities: praying, fasting, alms, etc.

    3) I don’t think that everything I know is right and that western civilization is wrong. There are many people who do believe that because of a long history of colonization, violence, poverty, and helplessness. These are social pathologies that occur under these conditions, they are not prescribed by the Qur’an, the hadith, or the sunna.

    4) Most Muslims are not trying to change everything you know and hold dear. I don’t know any Muslims that want shariah law instituted in the U.S. As the United States becomes more diverse you may see many products that are produced specifically for Muslims but that’s not an attempt to change your country. It’s because there is a market for these products, and when there’s a market there are producers who will flock to it. You also may see mosques in your neighborhoods, especially if you live in an area that has a large Muslim population. This is a consequence of immigration and changes in population dynamics, not some sort of attack.

    5) I don’t subscribe to the world domination narrative. There are certainly some Muslims that do but I find them to be angry young men who are disenfranchised and impoverished. Again, I tend to look at these sorts of things like a sociologist would. Poverty and poor prospects appear to be the precipitating factor rather than the religion. Religious rhetoric becomes the tool these people use to mitigate their circumstances.

    I hope that helps. Salaam.

  14. Paula Kennedy says:

There’s no such thing as “Palestine”
“Palestine” is the name that the Romans gave to the land of Israel when they conquered this land 2000 years ago and Wikipedia explains (Israel) :
It was during this time that the Romans gave the name Syria Palaestina to the geographic area, in an attempt to erase Jewish ties to the land. The Mishnah and Jerusalem Talmud, two of Judaism’s most important religious texts, were composed in the region during this period. The Muslims conquered the land from the Byzantine Empire in 638 CE. The area was ruled by various Muslim states (interrupted by the rule of the Crusaders) before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire in 1517.
And also the Greeks prior to the Romans:

Abba Eban wrote in his book ‘My nation – The history of the nation of Israel’ in page 64 that the Greek historian Herodotos used the name ‘Palestina’, that is ‘Pleshet’, for the first time as a complete name for all the land of Israel while in the past it referred only to the populated areas of the Philistines themselves.

Abba Eban added that the Philistines, who settled down in the shore area, were the first ones with whom the Greek invaders encountered thus the Greeks called all the land in the name of the Philistines.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” nation.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” state.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” kingdom.

There were never in the history of the world “Palestinian” kings.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” capital.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” essence.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” heritage.

There was never in the history of the world a “Palestinian” culture.

The “Palestinians” are ARABS who were brought to the region by the Ottoman empire as part of the Muslim occupation in the region and later on also by the British who entered masses of Arabs from the surroundings while closing Israel to its genuine owners. Arabs from countries like Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen emigrated to Israel in the beginning of the 20th century to look for employment (due to the development of this land by the Judean inhabitants) while pretending to be living in Israel “for thousands of years…” These Arabs are definitely not the tribes from Crete who settled down in the 5 cities of Gaza strip after the Exodus of Israel from Egypt. These tribes were called Philistines and they weren’t Arabs at all and the nowadays “Palestinians” are definitely not their descendants. The Philistines don’t exist as a nation nowadays.

There’s no “Palestinian” nation but an ARAB one which went out of the Arabian Peninsula and occupied dozens of lands, including the land of Israel.

According to the Israeli Wikipedia the Arabs who were living in the land of Israel started to call themselves “Palestinians” only after the establishment of Israel in 1948 and prior to it they called themselves just ‘Arabs’ and this is how they called their organizations (‘Arab Higher Committee’) and their struggles (‘The Great Arab Revolt’) and nicknamed the land of Israel in different names such as ‘Southern Syria’.

Zuheir Mohsen is widely known for having made the following statement in a March 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw:
“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”
There was an Israeli state in the land of Israel 2000 years before the prophet of Islam dreamt that he’s flying on a “magical horse” from Mecca to Jerusalem.

There was an Israeli nation in the land of Israel.

There was an Israeli kingdom in the land of Israel.

There were Israeli kings in the Israeli kingdom of Israel.

There was an Israeli capital in the kingdom of Israel.

There was and there is an Israeli essence.

There was and there is an Israeli heritage.

There was and there is an Israeli culture.

Israel isn’t just a name of a state. It’s first and for all a name of a nation (Am Yisrael). Israel is the name of the father of the nation (Jacob) and Israelis are his descendants. The real meaning of the word ‘Israeli’ is someone who belongs to the nation of Israel and not only “a citizen of a state called Israel”. The word ‘Israeli’ (Yisraeli) is mentioned in the Torah and we use it in Hebrew till this day. Yisraelim in plural.

Don’t say “Jews”, say Judeans. Yehudi in Hebrew is Judean in English, not “Jew”. “Jews” is a mockery word for Judeans. The word ‘Judeans’ was invented by gentiles. When the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans conquered the land of Israel they called all the Israelis in the name ‘Judeans’ because at those days the tribe of Judah was the biggest and the dominant tribe which survived the exile of Assyria in which 10 tribes of Israel were exiled. The tribe of Judah lived in the Judean desert thus the gentiles who occupied the land of Israel called the members of this tribe (and also the ones of Benjamin and Levi who joined it) in the name ‘Judeans’.

When Israelis (Judeans) who live abroad go to synagogue they don’t read about Judeans and not about “Jews” in the prayer books nor in the Torah but about ‘The Nation of Israel’, ‘The Children of Israel’, ‘The House of Israel’, ‘Israeli’, ‘Shema Yisrael’, etc. They are Israelis because they belong to the nation of Israel even if they aren’t citizens of a state called Israel. Both of the words ‘Judeans’ and ‘Israelis’ refer to nationality, to ethnic identity and not to religion. Judeans are members of the tribe of Judah and not “people who believe in Judaism”. And the nation isn’t called Judah but Israel, and so does the land and in the future the 10 tribes will return to this nation.

Israelity (“Judaism”) isn’t a “religion” but a historical national covenant between G-d and the Israelis.

That’s why Arab citizens of Israel don’t define themselves as Israelis but as Arab/”Palestinian” citizens of a state CALLED Israel. They aren’t members of the Israeli nation but of the Ishmaelite nation. Ishmael used to shoot arrows at Isaac (father of Israel) while saying: “I’m only playing…” That’s why there’s no “Israeli-Palestinian conflict” but a WAR that the Ishmaelites/Arabs opened on the Israelis. Also Muhammad murdered Israelis in Saudi Arabia who refused to accept his murderous pagan dream.

That’s why we should say: End the Arab occupation in the land of Israel!

Couple of facts that the haters of Israel don’t like:

Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam.

Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1967, two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood in 1948.

After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Israelis ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years.

The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 B.C. lasted just 22 years.

For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Israeli capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it.

Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Tanach, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur’an.

King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it.

Israelis pray facing Jerusalem; Muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem.

In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Israeli presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier.

Virtually the entire Israeli population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms.

Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Israelis were forced to leave the Muslim countries.

In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War 2, they are the only group to have never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Israeli refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel, a country no larger than New Jersey, USA.

There are 22 Muslim countries, not counting “Palestine”. There is only one Israeli state.

Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel.

During the Jordanian occupation, Israeli holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Israelis. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths.

The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Israeli cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Israelis from accessing the temple mount and western wall.

Arabs started all five wars against Israel, and lost every one of them.

Haplogroup J2 is found in concentrations in the Caucasus , the Fertile Crescent and throughout the Mediterranean including: Italy, Balkans,Greece,Israel,Palestine , Anatolian and Iberian peninsulas and North Africa. J2 is known to be related to the ancient Greek and Jewish movements.

Two Y-DNA Haplogroups connected with Iranic people are Haplogroup
    J2 and R1a1

    Phoenicians

The Phoenician gene in this study refers to haplogroup J2,which is closely associated with the Fertile Crescent.
The study found that the J2 -old levantine haplogroup was found in an high proportion, 20-30% ,among Levantine people such as the Syrians, Lebanese, and the Palestinians. The ancestor haplogroup J is common inabout 50% of the Arabic-speaking people of the Southwest Asian portion of the Middle East.
The study of the genetic marker of the Phoenicians showed that the Phoenician genetic marker was found in 1 out of 17 males in the region surrounding the Mediterranean and Phoenician trading centers such as the Levant, Tunisia, Morocco, Cyprus, and Malta.
In Lebanon 1 in 3 of Lebanese carry the Phoenician gene in their DNA. This Phoenician signature is distributed equally among different groups ( Christians,Druze,Marionites,Jews and Muslims) in Lebanon and that the overall genetic makeup of the Lebanese was found to be similar across various backgrounds.

“The Phoenicians were the Canaanites” was reported in the PBS description of the National Geographic TV Special on this study entitled “Quest for the Phoenicians” that ancient DNA was included in this study as extracted from the tooth of a 2500 year-old Phoenician mummy.

The National Geographic Genographic Project linked haplogroup J2 to the site of Jericho, Tel el-Sultan, 8500 BCE and indicated that in modern populations, haplogroup J2 is found in North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Middle East, with distribution among present-day Jewish populations 30%, Southern Italians 20%, and in Southern Spain 10%.

Interestingly, Nebel et al. (2001) found that the Cohen Modal Haplotype (CMH), considered one of three of the most definitive Jewish haplotypes, was found among 10.1% of Kurds. The CMH and the most frequent Kurdish haplotype (MKH) were the same on five markers (out of six) and very close on the other marker. The MKH was shared by 2.6% of Sephardims and 2.0% of Kurdish Jews. The conclusion is that these similarities result from the sharing of ancient genetic patterns, and not from more recent admixture between the groups.

In 2004, a team of geneticists from Stanford University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tartu University (Estonia), Barzilai Medical Center (Ashkelon, Israel), and the Assaf Harofeh Medical Center (Zerifin, Israel), studied the modern Samaritan community living in Israel in comparison with modern Israeli populations to explore the ancient genetic history of these people groups. The Samaritans or Shomronim trace their origins to the Assyrian province of Shomron (Samaria) in ancient Israel in the period after the Assyrian conquest 722 BCE. Shomron was the capital of the Northern Kingdom of Israel when it was conquered by the Assyrians and gave the name to the ancient province of Samaria and the Samaritan people group. Tradition holds that the Samaritans were a mixed people of Israelites who were not exiled or were sent back from exile. The modern-day Samaritans are believed to be the direct descendants of the ancient Samaritans.
Their findings reported the tribe of Ephraim , the tribe of Levi – and All Samaritan families were found in haplogroups J1 and J2, except the Samaritan Cohen family which was found in haplogroup E3b1a-M78 (renamed E1b1b). The Samaritan Cohen family were Levites until they died out around 1700, so the fact that they don’t share CMH is expected. These findings may offer more proof that E1b1 was one of the founding lineages of the Levites.E1b1b is thought to be a mutation of a semitic haplotype with a North African admixture.

The origin of J1c3 is in the more northerly populations and then spreads southward into the Arabian Peninsula. The high YSTR variance of J1c3 in Turks and Syrians supports the inference of an origin of J1c3 in nearby eastern Anatolia. Moreover, the network analysis of J1c3 haplotypes shows that some of the populations with low diversity, such as Bedouins from Israel, Qatar, Sudan and UAE, are tightly clustered near high-frequency haplotypes suggesting founder effects with star burst expansion in the Arabian Desert.

In 1977, a PLO leader, Zahir Muhsein, head of the as-Sa’iqa Organization revealed the truth in an interview to the Dutch newspaper Trouw. Here are his words:

“The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the State of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism for tactical reasons. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

In 1974, the late Syrian President, Hafez al-Assad,declared, “It would be fitting for us to mention to the responsible Israeli authorities that we view Palestine not just as an inseparable part of the Arab nation, but also as a part of southern Syria.” In 1987 he reiterated this at a conference in Amman by saying, “A country named ‘Palestine’ has never existed.” Jordan’s King Hussein responded, “The appearance of the national Palestinian persona serves as a response to Israel’s claim that Palestine is Jewish.”

The prize goes to Yasir Arafat who, in 1970 with candid simplicity, told the reporter Arianna Palazzi, “The question of borders doesn’t interest us… From the Arab standpoint, we mustn’t talk about borders. Palestine is nothing but a drop in an enormous ocean. Our nation is the Arabic nation that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea and beyond it… The PLO is fighting Israel in the name of Pan-Arabism. What you call ‘Jordan’ is nothing more than Palestine.”

From the fifth century BC, following the historian Herodotus, Greeks called the eastern coast of the Mediterranean “the Philistine Syria” using the Greek language form of the name. In AD 135, after putting down the Bar Kochba revolt, the second major Jewish revolt against Rome, the Emperor Hadrian wanted to blot out the name of the Roman “Provincia Judaea” and so renamed it “Provincia Syria Palaestina”, the Latin version of the Greek name and the first use of the name as an administrative unit. The name “Provincia Syria Palaestina” was later shortened to Palaestina, from which the modern, anglicized “Palestine” is derived.
This whole word game was to deride and disrespect the JEWS and to take away their national identity. THUS it still persists today.

Sarah Islam, I support the Jewish people of Israel, 100%. They are the people of the old testament. As Christians we are told in scripture, to support Jews, the people of God. The Jews are God’s people of the old testament. Jews are like cousins of the Christians. We worship the same God. The muslims worship the moon god allah. This lunar moon god is not the same God of the Jews and the Christians. Further more the number of nobel peace prizes won by Jews, says more that enough for me. I hate what has been done and said about the Jews who have been terribly treated over the years. I know them to be strong and resolute in spirit and we must all support Israel as the last and the first line of defense against the savage muslims in the middle east. Israel is the only country that we must have and need to have troops located for our safety as well as the Jews. God bless the Jews and God has told us that He will bless people who bless the Jews. That is enough for me and my family.

Don’t know where Gingrich is going re the nomination process, but it’s good to have him at the top of the polls when he makes himself this useful. Don’t back down, Newt. At this point, with sharia-based censorship staring us in the face, we need all the truth we can get.

Sarah Islam, I am an atheist so I feel no requirement to bow and scrape to your “feelings” about your religion. You say you are a better person for being closer to God. Your “god” as defined in the theology of Islam is totally alien to humanity (none of that “in his own image” reassurance in Islam) and is a being of pure “Power” and “Will” who acts randomly without purpose or moral cause. If you don’t believe me, I refer you to Robert Reilly’s “The Closing of the Muslim Mind” for a detailed dissection of the rejection of reason and objective reality by Islam ever since the 9th century. But of course, being now one of the Umma, you aren’t going to care what some filthy kuffar has to say, are you?

If, as you claim, you do not hold to the denunciation of Western values, requirement of government by sharia law, “world domination narrative”, and other absolute requirements of your chosen religion, please at least admit that you are a bad muslim even if you are trying to be a good person, and go find a fantasy myth that won’t leave you constantly having to claim that it doesn’t teach the destructive things that Islam very demonstrably does. Just don’t tell any of your little muslim friends if you do decide to leave, because you will find they become your ex-friends very quickly and some of them may decide to apply that Islamic requirement about kiling “anyone who leaves his religion” that Big Mo’ your baby-raper prophet talked about. Just sayin’.

Frankly, you sound to me like a little Lefty touch-feelie Politically Correct Multicultural feelings-worshipper who doesn’t really know why she took up with this train wreck of a religion except that it’s trendy and it makes her feel good to be “different”. Two words, sweetie: Grow. Up.

  22. The Philistines were always desert nomads. The division between the Philistines and Jews goes way back to the battle between David (most loved of Yahweh, a man after Gods heart), and the enemy of the Jews named Goliath. Goliath was a giant that went out everyday to taunt the people of Israel .Many know the story with three stones and a sling shot David killed Goliath. It was God and God alone that brought this about. He loved the Israelites, and detested the Philistines. These same Palestinians are still the enemy of God.The Muslims have no God, just a prophet who preaches murder , rape, incest, sex with animals, torture, hatred of mankind. Not much has changed over all these years. Muslims still causing trouble taunting people.

  23. Burnerjack says:

Again, Newt states FACT. So many responses, so many attacks. Yet again, diversion and misdirection, but no one declares his statement as erroroneous and can back it up with documented, truth. Why? Again, because FACT has an intractable permanence. BTW, it is THIS very reason why history books are so passionately fought over by historians are those that would rewrite history to suit their needs. Newt is merely stating HISTORICAL FACT. It is NOT anti Muslim, NOT pro Israel. Just FACT. I love how one Muslim group called it “The most racist statement ever seen.”. Apparently, If you refute dillussion with fact, you’re a “racist’.

  24. Burnerjack says:

    Sarah Islam,
You seem quite intelligent and eloquent. Nice to read a well thought out Muslim response. My question to you is “how can a person of your obvious level of intellect reconcile the violence mandated against non Muslims and exMuslims with the doctrine of a true religion?” Please, do not say this is not true as these mandates have been documente here and elsewhere many times. I can shake my head at violent Christians by dismissing them as not true followers of the Word. Logic would dictate a Muslim does not have such luxury. I don’t mean to attack you or put you “on the spot”. I have challenged Muslims here to refute both these mandates and the resultant actions witnessed around the world. Silence has always been the response. I sincerely want to here from you. You are the first poster here that I have an expectation of a viable response. I hope you will take this opportunity for dialog. The others, I expect no quality dialog, just foaming at the mouth “Allah Akbar! Death to America” type stuff. laughable at best. But you, you seem different. above all that. Please don’t prove me wrong. I await your response.
In my mind, thus far, “peaceful Muslims” practice a very selective view of Islam, or are “Muslim” in name only. I suspect many Muslims out there feel the same way.

  25. nomosque says:

ICE and BNI, Thanks for your responses, very informative and interesting.

  26. Sarah Islam says:

Thank you Cat for your thoughtful response. Burnerjack, I can’t speak for all Muslims here. This would be impossible, and dishonest. Islam is not a monolithic religion (no religion is). There are different schools of law, there are different styles of practice, and there are many different interpretations of what the scriptures/hadith/sunna mean to Muslims. Have the doctrines been used to justify violence against women, animals, Christians, Jews, non-Muslims. Absolutely. You all are aware of the terrible things that can be done in the name of religion, and particularly Islam.

The Arab world is in crisis at this moment in history. Oil money has created countries where some of the wealthiest people in the world live near people in abject poverty. But Islam is not an Arabic religion, it is a world religion. There are Muslims living all around the world, including those living in the United States and Europe. I’m not going to claim (nor have I ever claimed) that the people who commit these heinous acts are not Muslims. It’s an informal logical fallacy to do so.

My objection is to the claim that there is a concrete doctrine within Islam that advocates violence. Texts cannot advocate, they can only be interpreted. As a feminist scholar I have studied the problematic texts in detail and their tafsir (commentary). Islam has been and continues to be a male dominated religion that has left many women voiceless (or worse). But these passages like Sura 4:34 have not always been interpreted as advocating wife beating. None of the Imams I know and have listened to would advocate that, although there are certainly those who have, and will continue to.

In conclusion my answer to your question is that there is no concrete mandate to violence. These texts are subject to interpretation, but that is postmodern view and will likely leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth. That’s whats so wonderful and malleable about religion. Think about intra-religious doctrinal disputes, like the Pauline letters’ advocacy of Greek misogynistic household codes. 1 Corinthians 14:34 states: “Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.” I’ve never been to a Church where the women are not allowed to speak (although there certainly are some that take this literally). I could claim that women’s silence in church is a requirement of Christianity, therefore if Sarah Christian is allowed to speak in her church she is not a good Christian. But that would be intellectually dishonest. Nothing is black and white but all lovely shades of gray.

    Sarah Islam
I decided 2 years ago to read the Koran. Not read like back to back at one shot, but rather following the chronological orders and researching the suras on the internet along with the Koran. I was in chock I just confess. I DID sincerely expect to find kinda like the same thing as there is in the Old Testament regarding violence. BUT by the end of my research I came face to face with NO LESS than 500+ verses in the Koran that are TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to ignore. The OT has sections of violence, but their are clearly and explicitly description of events that took place in that time. The Koran is repetitive and assertive in its affirmation of the inferiority of other religions and the claim that ALL other people that DO NOT follow Mohhamed are the worse of creatures, are gonna burn in hell, drink hot liquid metal, are dirty and should be defeated! ITS over and over, at nearly every single page a message of intolerance! I really tried to see it in the context of the time, but the verses are very clear and as opposed to the Bible that uses a lot of allegory, the words in the Koran leave no space for interpretation..unless you wanna really tamper with Allah’s words. I decided to highlight all these verses (and idea I took from a Islam critic) and guess what? The book turned yellow (the colour of my marker). ISLAM denies the crucifixion of Christ Sarah..that is an anathema to the Christians! How could on earth Islam be compatible and live harmoniously with Christianism? The New Testament is intrinsically bound to the Old testament, one only needs to read both. It is the same God, the language, the inflections are identical, after all, Jesus WAS a JEW! The message of the Koran is diametrically opposed to that of the Bible! IT CANNOT be the same GOD! The historical events described in the Koran in regarding to the Bible and other prophets in the OLD Testament are all twisted. How is it possible that the Koran being the word of GOD makes such blunt errors that are all told in the Torah in other terms and actually VERY different? LISTEN, I am a catholic, I am hardly and person of strong faith, I doubt the existence of GOD everyday, and I REALLY tried to be impartial when reading your book..I PRO MESS! BUT facts are stubborn things! How can you worship I God whose message said this:

Sahih Muslim Book 019, Hadith Number 4366.
Sahih Muslim Book 19. Jihad and Expedition
Chapter : Evacuation of the Jews from the Hijiz.
It has been narrated by ‘Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba: Our Prophet told us about the message of our Lord that “Whoever amongst us is killed (as a martyr) will go to Paradise.” Umar asked the Prophet, “Is it not true that our men who are killed will go to Paradise and their’s (i.e. those of the Pagan’s) will go to the (Hell) fire?” The Prophet said, “Yes.”
    Volume 4, Book 52, Number 73

    Hadith: Sahih Muslim 4294:
“When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to 3 courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also except it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya (the Islamic tax). If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them.” – Muhammad

Hadith: Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 52, No. 196:
    Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah ‘s Apostle said, ” I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ and whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)”
    and many..MANY MORE!
    I think you’ve been duped!

  31. Yona Hall says:

    To Sarah Islam;
1.Israel means everything to me !That is why I left Los Angeles and moved here.I first visited Israel in 1979,when I spent a year at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.I knew for years before that I needed to be in Israel and that G-d was directing me there. The Torah says”Now the L-rd said unto Avram;”Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show you”That resonated with me many years before I actually arrived in The Holy Land, and that is exactly what I did.

2.If I have a personal and spiritual connection to the land of Israel, then for sure I have a personal and spiritual connection to the people of Israel. The Jews of Israel and in the world are not a race, but are a multi ethnic and multi racial peple. That goes back to the very beginnings of the people.Moses married a Cushite(an Ethiopian),and a “mixed multitude”(Hebrews and many other peoples)came out of Egypt when Pharoh let them go.

3.I am an Orthodox Jew and to me being Jewish means that I accept the “yoke of the Kingdom of heaven”(We affirm that every day in our prayer Shma Israel, which says that the L-rd our G-d is One) and the “yoke of the commandments”.Jewishness,as defined by Halacha(Jewish law),says that if your mother is Jewish,or if you have undergone an Orthodox conversion, you are Jewish. That is my definition of Jewishness. I know there are others. You asked about me.
For example the Reform movement accepts Patrilineal descent and their definition of Jewishness would include a non Jewish mother and a Jewish father.

4.My faith is one of adherence to Jewish law. That means I observe all Jewish holidays according to Jewish law.I pray 3 times a day,I wear modest clothes and cover my hair.I eat only kosher and try to be the best Jew I can be.The Jewish people were designated by G-d almighty to be a Am Kadosh(a holy nation),and entered into a covenant with Him on Mt. Sinai when we replied “All that the L-rd has spoken we shall do”.That was an eternal covenant.Nothing can break it and nothing can replace it.The mission of the Jews is to be a light unto the nations(Or L’goyim) and to repair the world(Tikun Olam).Whether they do or not is on them,as no one(no religious entity) can force any Jew to do anything.

5.I am a Zionist. In Hebrew Zion(Tsion)is Jerusalem and has been the focal point of Jewish devotion for much more than two thousand years. That is where the First Temple and the Second Temple stood, the only remnant being The Western Wall. Our daily prayers call for a return to Zion. That is why in our National Anthem,we sing about the two thousand year old hope of returning to Zion and that the Jews in exile always had their eye on Jerusalem. We pray in the direction of Jerusalem and for us that yearning has become our reality.

These are my answers to your questions.I speak only for myself as there are as many ways to be Jewish as there are Jews.LOL!It doesn’t matter because we are still one nation, and are told by our Rabbi’s of blessed memory, more than a thousand years ago,Kol Israel areivim zeh b’zeh,in other words every Jew is responsible for every other Jew.

I am curious by what you meant when you said that you are researching anti semitism. Are you going to include Islam and it’s hatred of the Jews? That is a study well overdue! .

  32. Ec says:

Excellent thread. Absurd for Arabs to lie about, well everything. I agree with Newt.

    sarah,
I am happy you have found a way to salvage your life.
Everyone has different views and choices in religion ,that is a human right.
But for some odd reason muslims think they have a right to continuously preach, make demands, proclaim their beliefs and share their ideals with people that have no interest in Islam. There are 57 countries that are majority muslim but muslims are forcing themselves in countries where they are unwanted.
Yes,Islam is not a monolithic religion and each sect follows it’s own rules but in every place a muslim moves in, the radicals follow. You bring the problem with you.Can you understand why people resent this invasion? The US has always been diverse,it neither needs nor wants Islam.

On the issue of Palestine .Please read all the comments. You will see:
    1. Many of the residents are of Jewish ancestors who were forced to convert.
    2. Israel is the home of the Jews and it has been for over 5000 yrs, muslim invasions or not.The world and G-d recognizes that fact.
3.Palestine was given back to the Jews, muslims ignored the decree and promptly began slaughtering them.Muslims took it through war and lost it through war.
    4. ME countries persecuted, attacked and expelled Jews and stole land 4 times the size of Israel from them, the survivors fled to Israel .The Palestinians could have moved to the stolen land.
    5. The middle east is huge,it is majority muslim (all taken through slaughter) WHY do muslims deny anyone but themselves a right to exist ? Do you realize how hypocritical it is for muslims to immigrate to other countries and demand their rights or to drive everyone out of the ME who is not muslim ,then cry oppression -racism and bigotry ? Jews are the minority, they are being bombed daily in their own homes because of their religion.

Islam has no real connection to Israel or Jerusalem ,not religiously or historically .

So what the people living in Palestine have been there several generations ,if it was important to them muslims would not be leaving their ancestral holy places for Europe ,UK,US,Australia,Canada…….

  34. Sarah Islam says:

    Yona~

Thank you for your thoughtful answer. My focus is a sociological approach to identity construction and hatred between Jews/Christians/Muslims in Western contexts. My colleague is working on a philosophical approach to anti-semitic language embedded in Western media and leftish public figures. The fact that many Muslims hate Jews and vice versa is well established in academic literature. We are looking for more subtle and therefore more sinister forms of hate and their causes. It’s one of the reasons I hang around here. It’s quite fascinating.

  37. Morgan says:

On 31/3/1977, Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with PLO exec member Zahir Muhsein. He said “The Palestinian people does not exist.

Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, Syrian Arab leader to British Peel Commission, 1937):
“There is no such country as Palestine. There is no Palestine in the Bible (or Qur’an). Our country was for centuries part of Syria. Palestine is alien to us.”

Prof Phil Hitti, Arab historian, 1946:

    Sarah,
    Just a tip for you.
Asking religious based questions is akin to asking about someones sex life to many, many people. It can be very offensive.
Everyone does not follow muslim habits of forcing attention on their beliefs with clothing, public anouncements, promoting debates and disruptive intrusions in discussions.

It is a bit rude of you to hijack conversations to promote religious views under the guise of education or helping a colleague. If you are looking for antisemitism look in your quran, school, watch the news or go to liberal websites .If you want to conduct research and surveys, try making your own blog.If you are trying to annoy and antagonize people, try muslim sites-just mention the word Jew.

    Now back to the topic.
Newt’s knowledge of history, honesty and directness are pleasantly surprising.

It was disingenuous for the other candidates to use his comment as a political attack point. He represents American’s opinions and is not so arrogant as to speak for another country.
He has earned another look at his policies and ideas with his strong support of Israel.

Sarah Islam I thing it would best for you to move on darlin’ you aren’t going to convince any intelligent human being on the planet to salute ‘Islam’. Islam is a demonic satanic inspired man-made religion of intimidation, manipulation & control. (known as witchcraft in the Christian Bible). You are not to have an intelligent ‘thought’ of your own which you have proven in your posts. Muslims are BORN into this cesspool & cannot escape of they will be KILLED. What don’t you ‘get’ about this?

If you truly followed this demonic book of your religion you would be killing people with dead bodies stacked everywhere because that is what is tells you do .. hello….jews are pigs…and KILL the Infidel … or didn’t you read that part …. news flash ….this is ANYONE that isn’t a muslim. A Religion of Peace …..no … a religion of hate where you are instructed to kill. If you are not following this sick book you have failed being a Muslim so what bother calling yourself one? Either you are a Muslim AND YOU WILL DO WHAT THE BOOK INSTRUCTS YOU TO DO …. or you aren’t a Muslim ….can’t have it both ways.

Sadly, satan has blinded your eyes. Satan has also blinded the eyes of the Left-wing media who are also demonically inspired by Satan through the lies they spread on the air that ignorant, uniformed people without a clue actually believe.

My former Pastor was a muslim – he is now a born-again Christian knows the Word of God inside out & is a Warrior for Christ. I know many Muslims who were in bondage to this sick so called religion of peace & they have been set free by the blood of Jesus Christ. The greatest fallacy being perpertrated on the world is that Islam is the fastest growing Religion on earth….untrue… Muslims in 40/60 triangle are having visions of Christ, getting healed by the 1000′s & accepted Jesus as Lord! (The media WILL NOT REPORT THIS). My former Pastor is a world Evangelist he goes to the 40/60 triangle once a month for 10 years now & 100,000 muslims go to the ‘Jesus’ meetings in stadiums …..being healed-delivered & accepting Christ!!! Sad part is they are afraid to go back to their villages because they know they will be exciled by their families & excecuted for being an Infidel.

Read the book written by Ergan Caner ‘Inside Islam’ (won an award for it) – an ex-Muslim whose father was an Iman & when all his sons became Christians he disowned them **** they were lucky …. he didn’t KILL them he lived in Ohio … because that’s what Muslims do to their kids that leave the faith ….oh – maybe you didn’t ‘know’ that? …. Recently close to where I live in Canada a father & a brother killed the young daughter because she wouldn’t wear one of those totally ridiculous scarves on her head … murdered her in cold blood … then last week on the news a father murdered 3 of his children & his former wife (didn’t think Muslims were supposed to get divorced) … guess how this maniac killed them .. he ran the car into a lake with 5 of them in it! …..& the coward had the driver’s seat moved so far back the women couldn’t even reach the brake peddle.

Please don’t give me any more your sick rhetoric about ‘Islam’ …go get some medication & get out of it – it’s not the people … it’s the SICK RELIGION.

Allahu akbar, does NOT mean “God is great.” In Arabic, “God” = Allah and “great” = kabeer.
Allahu means “My/Our God” and akbar means “greater.”
Allahu akbar, therefore, means “My/Our God is greater [than yours].”
When a Muslim gunman shouts this, he is being very clear about his motive: jihad, the holy struggle to defend Islam by killing infidels. So apart from confirming that any one who proclaims this is a Mohammedan it also exposes the reality of Islam because if THEIR god is greatest then there must be perforce other ‘lesser’ Gods. This reveals Islams Polytheistic roots it also reveals the confrontational and supremacist nature of Islam. Needless to say Mohammedans are very happy that the moronic moonbats and the Islamophile, antisemitic Lame Stream EneMedia continue to miss-translate it as “God is Great” as this also gives them the opportunity to claim that their God allah is the same as your God which is patently and clearly insane. The Mohammedan God is an evil , self contradictory, illogical, violent, misogynistic, vengeful , antisemitic, Arab supremacist God (its all in the Koran) totally unlike the Christian and Jewish God.
What little there is in the Koran that was plagiarized from the Bible and the Torah has been corrupted because as Mohammad was illiterate he only heard the ‘Chinese Whispers’ of what was written in those Holy Books and got it wrong. A prime example is the Muslim veneration of the WRONG son of Abraham Ishmael instead of Isaac that they celebrate by barbarically slaughtering thousands of animals in the streets.
The Koran believes that Ishmael received the promise and the blessings, yet the Bible believes that Isaac was the one who received it. Some people would say, “Well, it doesn’t matter who received it as long the person is the child of Abraham and believes in God.” But according to the Bible this is very important, and one of the foundational beliefs of the Bible is:

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid [Ishmael], the other by a freewoman [Isaac]. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh [Ishmael]; but he of the freewoman was by promise [Isaac]. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which genders to bondage, which is Hagar [Ishmael-Mohammed], for this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all [Isaac-Christ]… Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise [Bible-Christianity]. But as then he that was born after the flesh [Koran-Islam] persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. (Galatians 4:22-29)

Christians and Moslems do not simply have two different fathers (Isaac and Ishmael) and two different books (Bible-Koran), but they have two completely different spirits: one brings freedom, the other brings bondage; one leads to life, the other leads to death.

In the Bible we see that God wants us to make the choice (freedom). “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). But according to the Koran, Allah chooses the way for us (bondage). “This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed my favour unto you, and have chosen for you as your religion Islam” (Sure 5:3).

By the way just like the true narcissist that he was, Islams inventor, the antisemitic, paedophilic, misogynistic War Lord Mohammad’s reaction when his glaring errors were pointed out to him was to insist that the Bible and the Torah had been corrupted but that allah was protecting the Koran from corruption. He of course omitted to explain how allah could protect the Koran when he was incapable of protecting the Bible and the Torah.
