PAKI’S GONE WILD?

An elderly, frail Pakistani cleric dances in his chair for money, while men and women around him are singing and dancing. But isn’t that forbidden in Islam?

Gee, where can I get this groovy CD so I can use for skeet shoot??? The keyboard looked like something you would buy in Walmarts toy department. If this is some of the same talent immigrating into western society, I’d say were soooo lucky???

I didn’t see any women in the crowd.

Is the old man in the chair a “bacha bazi” boy?

Is this, perhaps, a benefit bash for a retired or disabled terrorist?

Is the guy flinging money at the crusty old man trying to buy a lap dance or some kind of sex act?

    What’s wrong with these people?

    Gross!!!
The law of Sharia is never applied across the board equally. If something is wanted and it involves a cleric or Imam, anything goes when they decides what is allowed.

Very true. Even the Mongol Khakhans abided by the laws and decrees they themselves emplaced, for the most part….

This is a branch of Sufi Islam that borrowed some things from Hinduism (singing, music, etc). The sect is persecuted in Pakistan as ‘not being muslim enough’ by more radical muslims quite often. Recently, one of their mosques was hit by a suicide bomber and many were killed. A famous musician, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (October 13, 1948 – August 16, 1997) was from Pakistan, primarily a singer of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis (a mystical tradition within Islam).

      Vic, are they the Ahmadiyas?

      • vic108 says:

No, I don’t think so, although some beliefs may overlap. Here’s a wiki link with some interesting note:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_schools_and_branches

of course, Sufism varies per location. The clown that was trying to start the ground zero mosque is a Sufi but he is from Egypt, I believe and his doctrine is alot different than the more eastern versions.

In my opinion anybody who believes in sharia is dangerous. Sharia is incompatible with modern understanding of morality and at it’s heart a personality cult of Muhammed.

      • vic108 says:

No, but some of their beliefs MAY overlap. Saudis have been sending Wahhabist to Pakistan for years now and these minor sects have been attacked and slaughtered – just “not Muslim enough” for the Wahhabis.

      • asdf says:

No, Ahmediyas believe in the another prophet called “ghulam ahmed” which gives them some ability to reinterpret Quran and add some stuff theologically to make Islam non-violent, however they still believe in sharia. The one in the video is a sufi sect which basically does music and gets high (kind of like rastafarians). The symbols used are Islamic however they don’t really have an ideology and are not dangerous because they are mostly into music and getting high. But they do come under the fold of Islam just like the modern muslims who don’t know much about Islam.

        • barenakedislam says:

Thank asdf. I know that in Indonesia, the Ahmadiya muslims are getting slaughtered for not being Muslim enough

PS: Wahhabism was a response to Sufi Islam. Wahhabi Islam is strict in following the Koran and Hadiths, whereas Sufi Islam tends to seek a mystical and deeper meaning to the texts. The closer to India Sufism gets, the more “Hindu-like” Sufism becomes, less likely to be prone to violence, etc…

Not to worry, friends, as is the case with so many muzzy rules and regs, this kind of dancing and gaiety is okay if you’re a devout asslifter, but NOT if you’re one us f—ing infidels!!Asslifters are chosen and have Allah’s approval, but NOT us infidels!!

It looks like some birthday party for some old codger about to make the leap into the great beyond. I guess this was his last fling before they bury him in the dirt. I wonder just how old he was? People in that part of the world look much older than they actually are. He might have been in his fifties, but looked ninety. I don’t think he would still be living.
