COLORADO student quits choir over Islamic song that praises the Muslim deity ‘Allah’

KREX-TV (H/T RevereRidesAgain) Harper thinks the Islamic song picked for the after-school men’s choir group should be pulled, because he says the Islamic piece is not appropriate for a public school choir. The song is called “Zikr,” and its composer says is not intended for a worship ceremony. For senior James Harper, a Christian who is active in his local church, the wording and meaning of the song is such that he feels it should not be performed by students in a public school setting.
“I don’t want to come across as a bigot or a racist, but I really don’t feel it is appropriate for students in a public high school to be singing an Islamic worship song,” Harper told NewsChannel 5.
Harper sent an email to District 51 officials expressing his concerns with the song. District officials said while they understand not everyone will agree with or appreciate songs due to the religious nature of the pieces, they completely stand behind both the music teacher and the song.
“This is about bringing diversity to the students and showing them other things that are out there,” spokesman Jeff Kirtland said. “The teacher was open with the parents and students do not have to participate in this voluntary club choir.”

Actually we should confirm his beliefs as he believes this song to be nothing but pure bullshit, ( incorrect p/c talk) from the beginning, and he is correct. Now watch the hall monitors, ( our own grubmint) start with the attacks for him not going along with their plans. Something akin to an appreciation for being an individual with the right to descern right from wrong, or good vrs. evil comes to mind. of Freedom, is accurate at this point. He is an individual, acts like one, and is to be commended for it. Get the concept of of the 1st amendment correct, obviously the teachers doesnot understand it or is too dhimmized to say anything against it. No thanks to you and all of you fricken dhimmized cowards for not standing for this young mans rights as an individual. Get islam out of the schools right now, or there will be HELL to pay in the future, I guaren-damn-tee it.
I certainly don’t blame the kid one bit I would have dropped out also. Islam has no place in our schools systems.This administration is pushing for our students to receive education in Islam in our system, should not be allowed period.

There is NO ROOM for any song, literature, or lectures on Islam EXCEPT FOR THE TRUTH.
Have known for decades that the educational system was going to h-ll as I watched students passed from grade to grade without the knowledge previously expected.
Have noted the increase of immorality among the teachers that has been tolerated by a majority of parents.
Parents, for the most part, have used the schools as baby-sitters without concern of their students receiving a viable education.
Sad that our youth have been deprived of learning the truth and even more sad since I suspect the intelligent student and his family will be persecuted in every way possible.
Wonder if he will actually be alloed to graduate ??
No wonder the educational and teacher organizations are working so hard to get home-schooling outlawed.
They should be reminded that Adolf Hitler banned home-schooling – and that law is STILL what’s being enforced in modern-day GERMANY!!!!

Nothing wrong with providing kafir students an education on Islam, but it should be historically and doctrinally accurate – not un-examined Muslim propaganda.
Good for him. It would be nice if our schools taught students the basic subjects to prepare them to be responsible adults and able to provide for themselves. Diversity is becoming the main focus and if they really want to show the students other things that are out there, maybe they should be telling them about what those Muslim’s out there are really like. Our schools are nothing but indoctrination facilities.
