The Council on Anti-American Islamic Relations (CAIR) framed prominent members of a California community, including two U.S. Congressman, two law professors, a rabbi, and more.
RADICAL ISLAM (H/T Susan K) After a peaceful and respectful protest staged by 500 citizens opposite an event by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA)—an event which featured speeches by two prominent hate-filled, anti-American radical Islamist imams — CAIR took footage of another, independent protest which included protesters screaming epithets at the event attendees.
CAIR then proceeded to splice footage of the two protests together to make a video for mass distribution. The plan worked. The video went viral, reaching over 777,000 people to date. Carrying its sabotage further, CAIR then lodged a complaint with the Orange County Human Right Commission (OCHRC), bring the video as evidence of its claims of Islamophobia and victimhood at the hands of the protesters.
Despite the fact that CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror-financing trial (for channeling funding to terrorist groups), nine out of 11 members of the OCHRC were willing to deliberate toward a consensus having only seen the doctored CAIR video. Not taken into consideration was the legitimacy of having hate-preachers speaking at the event itself.
The story began when a private resident of Yorba Linda, California, asked the Community Council for a permit to use the Community Center for a fund-raising event. The City Council had no indication that the event was to be held by ICNA, an out-of-town group, and that the featured speakers at the event would be hate-filled, anti-American radical Islamic imams.
In addition to CAIR, the FBI has probed ICNA for its long-documented ties to terrorist organizations and for its reputation for bringing anti-American Islamic radicals as speakers at its conferences.
The speakers at this particular ICNA event included Amir-Abdel Malik-Ali and Siraj Wahhaj. Malik is a frequent guest lecturer at Muslim Student Union and Muslim Students Association events. A passionate supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah, Malik (shown right) endorses suicide bombings as a legitimate “resistance” tactic, saying “Palestinian mothers are supporting their children who are suicide bombers, saying, ‘Go honey, go!’ That ain’t suicide; that’s martyrdom.” He considers the “white man,” Jews and America as “the enemy.” For more quotes from Malik-Ali, click here and here.
Wahhaj was named by U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White as a possible co-conspirator to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. In the summer of 1999, Wahhaj testified as a character witness for convicted terror mastermind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman. Wahhaj ( shown left) is on record for expressing his desire to see Muslims seize control of the United States and replace its constitutional government with an Islamic caliphate.
Ironically, Wahhaj cultivated an image as a moderate, and in 1991, he became the first Muslim to recite an opening prayer before a meeting of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Chapman Law professor Karen Lugo, a constitutional law attorney and co-director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, also spoke at the event. Lugo was outraged over CAIR’s “hit video.”
Commenting in an article she wrote for Family Security Matters, called, “CAIR Dares to Dictate My Speech,” Lugo writes of the Orange County Human Rights Commission, “If [their] true mission were condemnation of ‘hate,’ the actual instigators, Abdel Malik Ali, Sirhaj Wahhaj and CAIR would at least be agenda items. But rather than point a finger at the purveyors of radicalism, our politically correct minders often duck this duty and thus assist CAIR in the effort to alienate moderate Muslims from American cultural values.”
Event organizers note that the peaceful protest took place during the daytime. The “alternative” demonstration took place at night, which can clearly be seen on CAIR’s video. In fact, the attendees of the daytime event were unaware of any other event, as the time and place of the two protests were completely different.
This first video is CAIR’s doctored smear video which went viral on the internet.
This second one depicts the real events of the day. CAIR and ICNA had two radical imams speaks as keynotes in Yorba Linda, CA. Residents sponsored a Rally to protest. Then CAIR released a video portraying the residents were aligned with a hate group that showed up after the Rally at night.
In it, Deborah Pauly, First Vice Chair of the OCGOP, said she knew “quite a few Marines who would be very happy to help these Muslim terrorists to an early meeting in paradise.” She recently lost her seat over this remark.
