Liberty GB Party leader Paul Weston has announced his intention to stand for Liberty GB in the European Parliament elections to be held in May 2014.
Though Liberty GB opposes Britain’s membership of the European Union, the elections will provide a wonderful public platform for raising awareness of the Party; and should Paul be successful he’ll be in a position to present our views to a vast international audience whilst building alliances with other, like-minded organisations across Europe.
The constituency for which he will be seeking election is the South East England constituency, comprising the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
It’s a large region, and in order to give Paul the best possible chance of success, we’re getting the campaign underway now. Over the coming months we’ll be working hard to publicise Paul’s candidacy and the Party’s policy platform, and to raise support for the campaign.
First we need to put together a campaign team, and we are especially keen to find volunteers who live in the region and have local knowledge. Whatever your skills and experience, we’ll be able to put them to good use. ‘Paul Weston MEP’ has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
