The megastar singer was seen sporting the Muslim headbag (hijab) in a promo for her superpower duet with Frank Ocean. But Muslim activists accused her of disrespecting Islam by pairing the headgear with a bare skin-revealing outfit.
Daily Star Now she has started a fresh storm with Twitter user Karesa Warner saying: “Dear Beyonce: Do you think you’re going to get away with wearing a version of Islamic head-dress, hijab, while promoting your Demonic music?”
Dina added: “Quoting our holy Quran and dressing in a hijab isn’t a fashion statement you dumb beyonce.”

She was also blasted by feminists for modelling a garment seen as oppressive to women. Dana Yager wrote: “Sorry, Beyonce. Probably not in the best interest for women’s rights to make the hijab fashionable. Just sayin’.”
The 33-year-old released the clip online yesterday to promote a special edition of her self-titled 2013 LP, due out on Friday. At the same time she uploaded another 13 videos from the “visual album”, released last December. They include a steamy promo for her track Haunted which shows her writhing around in black lingerie. The song is guaranteed to get pulses racing when it features in upcoming movie 50 Shades Of Grey.
Beyonce was either wearing something to resemble the Hijab or the Bedouin turban. In both cases, it’s cultural appropriation and wrong.
