The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever savagely beheaded, skinned, and abused two innocent dogs is up to $17,000, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
WBIR (h/t Susan K) Ed Loy of the Fort Loudon Marina is pledging $5,000, boosting the total reward available from $12,000 earlier this week, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The remains of the animals were found the side of Jenkins Lane near Canton Hollow Road on June 24.
The dogs were decapitated and skinned, and had suffered other abuse as well. A necropsy was unable to determine the breed of the dogs killed, but investigators ask anyone that is missing two dogs of medium build that weighed between 25-35 pounds to call the sheriff’s office at (865) 215-2243.
Among those offering reward money in the abuse of the animals are PETA, $5,000; the Animal Legal Defense Fund, $5,000; and the Human Society of East Tennessee. Robert Brannon of Friends of the Animal Shelter in Newport is donating $1,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
