The mainstream media didn’t think that information about Oregon shooter Chris Harper-Mercer’s Islamic connections were important enough to mention. (See link below). But now, evidence of a purchase he made online of the flag of the Islamic State (ISIS) has been found.
Harper-Mercer goes by the User Name IRONCROSS and left a comment about his purchase of an ISIS flag (shown at left of comment) that reads:
“Exactly what I was looking for. I really like the quality. Great product, thanks! I will continue to make purchases from this company. I am very impressed. I WILL be back against soon. A+++++++ Seller. He also answered my questions quickly and satisfactorily. Received quickly, will be back for more purchases.”

Terrorist attacks are, it seems, set up to be individual, non associated incidences so as to leave as little of an islamic footprint as possible. About the Shooter Mercer, I beiieve the young woman he shot believing he had killed her, and she played dead on the floor because she knew he would shoot her again, and she said that he asked the victims if they were Christians, and if they said they were his reply was “well your going to get to see Jesus real soon” and then he shot them in the head. To those who want to deny or distort these facts, you must have some deep seated reason to deny the truth, and you really need to examine why. He was a Moslem, dedicated to Killing as many Christians as he could, and then killed himself to avoid having to be questioned about his associations. I find nothing confusing about this, and am not surprised at his Moslem associations nor his love of the Cult of Death. If you are making excuses for his acts, or are trying to blame his acts on others you are probably a member of the Cult of Death yourself.
Michael Kelly, people purchase flags for negative reasons — like flag burnings. In the same vein the Florida pastor involved in the Koran burnings was not Muslim or pro-Islam for having purchased those Korans. (They were not given to him.)
It is not automatically a pro-Islam action. There appears to be significant NEGATIVE comment from the Oregon shooter on other social media that was anti-Islam, and anti-organized religion in general. It has not been confirmed by any investigation that this purchase was actually made by CHM; and it is premature to assume he was pro-Muslim absent any other indications that was true.
In fact the only geo-political and religious tinged conflict that appears to have interested him, that can be verified, was Northern Ireland.
Further, it has been widely debunked that the shooter (I won’t use his name) targeted Christians. Far more witnesses, and victims (more than one person who was shot survived) have corrected this report, that he did NOT ask if people were Christian, he asked if they believed in God, and told them they were going to meet their maker. He does not appear at any point to have specified either Jesus or Christianity.
This same false report of targeting Christians came up post-Columbine, and was debunked as well. NO ONE at Columbine was asked if they were Christian, and the shootings, like Oregon, were random. I would refer you to the definitive book on the Columbine mass shooting by Dave Cullen for that information. Likewise, suicide without the motive of trying to avoid being questioned, but for the same reasons other people commit suicide. Rather we have a lot of copy-cat mass shootings attempted, without any connection or motivation relating to Islam in this country, and we are fortunate that roughly 3 out of 4 are prevented in the planning stages. THAT has been the result of extensive study of the topic of mass shootings which have helped both identify the Columbine effect and the Werther effects.
It’s unfortunate that sites like this promote factually inaccurate speculation and assumptions about tragedies, and the prevalence of doing so strongly suggests propaganda — either totally false or substantially inaccurate information with only vestiges of fact, combined with a strong appeal to emotion rather than healthy rational and skeptical thinking.
I see more than a few factually deficient posts listed to the right. I am not defending in any way the excesses of extremist or fundamentalist fanatics belonging to ISIS or other groups. But being more factually based leads to less extremism in the opposite direction as well.
I just hope the families know the truth about this guy and make a big stink about it.
