But don’t expect to see this update reported by CAIR. “Two Muslim teenagers were beaten to a pulp outside a Brooklyn mosque by an attacker who shouted slurs at them,” claims designated terrorist group CAIR, demanding that police investigate the incident as a hate crime.
NY Post (h/t Susan K) CAIR said in a statement that a 16-year-old boy was attacked outside Brooklyn’s Muslim Community Center as he took a break from prayers. A surveillance video released by CAIR showed a man punching, kicking and stomping the youth as he lay in the street. Another teenager on a bicycle was chased and attacked when he rode past the boy.
CAIR said the man was reportedly heard shouting: “You Muslims are the cause of all the problems of the world” and calling the youths “fucking terrorists.”
BUT HERE’S THE RUB: The July 2nd beating was originally investigated as a hate-crime, but police later concluded the teens’ Muslim faith was not a motivating factor.
The Brooklyn DA’s office is investigating allegations that the two teens beaten to a pulp by an enraged boyfriend outside a Brooklyn Mosque were sexually assaulting his girlfriend. The probe was launched after the unnamed woman claimed that the teens were taunting and molesting her when her boyfriend, Christopher Vallaro, ran to her rescue.
Investigators with the DA’s office are looking into the accusations that the teens reached through the car window and groped her breasts and body, sources said. Vallaro came to her rescue when he heard her screaming for help from floors above in his apartment, which is located adjacent to the Sunset Park mosque.
During a brief Wednesday appearance, defense attorney Sal Strazzullo submitted 20 letters from his client’s neighbors, mostly Muslim-Americans, in Vallaro’s defense.
