TAMPA: After being kicked out of Hillsborough County schools as a speaker, radical Muslim tries to indoctrinate senior citizens

The first words out of the mouth of terror-linked CAIR Executive Director, Hassan Shibly, to Sun City retirees are lies as he asserts, “There never is justification for terrorism, but terrorism stems from political differences, not from religious differences.”

Observer News Controversy frequently follows Hassan Shibly, Esq., but it does not so much as slow down this advocate for shoving Islam down the throats of unsuspecting Americans.

Shibly, whose November presentation to college-bound seniors at Steinbrenner High School raised parental ires and subsequently produced a stormy Hillsborough County School Board session, spoke here last week. He was the invited guest of the Universalist Unitarians.

Shibly heads the Tampa office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). And his mission, he told the 30 or so assembled UUs, is to acquaint non-Muslims with the facts (lies) of the faith. It is ignorance, he asserted, that leads to misunderstandings. (No, it is deception by Muslims that leads to misunderstandings) “When we speak to each other” he added, “we build respect for each other and learn from each other.” (You wish)

Seeming to separate himself and most other Muslims from those who call themselves Muslim but foment terrorism, Shibly declared “Islam teaches that human rights are often greater than God’s rights,”  adding that “you (we) cannot pray to God all day and then hurt people at night.” It is Muslim practice to pray five times each day. (But they hurt people all day long and at night, in between praying to God)

Speaking of God, he continued, Muslims believe that theirs is not a separate God but rather that there is only one, which is neither male nor female, a being above and beyond human comprehension who is represented by the several prophets, which include Abraham, Jesus Christ and Mohammed. And, he added, “Islam is more tolerant of Christianity than Christianity is of Islam.” (At that point, someone should have grabbed him by his scruffy beard and escorted him out, warning him not come back)

This is not Shibly’s speech at the Senior Center but is part of every speech he gives:

As part of his overview of Islam, Shibly outlined for the UUs the five pillars of the faith: testimony, prayer, fasting, alms giving and pilgrimage. And, standing before them, he practiced at least the first two. Asked about the Muslim position on atheism, the Shibly replied that in the Islamic faith the one unforgiveable failing is to die without ever recognizing God.

And when the subject of Muslim attitudes toward and treatment of women was raised, Shibly sidestepped and countered that in the context of Islam as it is practiced in his world, in fact, his wife can have more power than he has. Because his wife, in their faith, is entitled to keep all that she earns while his earnings must be used to support her and their family, he said, she may accumulate more materially than he and therefore would have greater power if it is equated with money. (Gee, I wonder why he left out the part about a woman only having half the value of man and if she is raped she needs 4 male witnesses to prove her case in a court of law or else she can be flogged,  jailed, or hanged)

He also acknowledged that there are extremists who distort the Qur’an to fit their agendas. “There never is justification for terrorism he asserted, “but terrorism stems from political differences, not from religious differences.”(Too bad nobody had  all the passages from the Quran that instruct Muslims to kill, torture, and behead non-believers and steal their land)

Elaborating on his comments to the UUs concerning women’s rights under Islamic law, Shibly acknowledged there are abuses such as so called “honor killing” which is murder of an offending female by her male relatives who perceive themselves to be dishonored. However, he pointed out what he considers a certain “double standard.” American men, in fact, murder women for all kinds of offenses they feel dishonor them, but it simply is not known as “honor killing” he said. Another difference is American criminal law which severely punishes proven murder. (Unlike Islamic law, which lets honor killers get off scot free)

Asked about the several documentary films which have circulated in the U.S. during recent years and focus on reported training camps in several states – Georgia, North Carolina, New York, Virginia, Colorado – where young Muslim converts are taught how and where to wage war on “infidel” Americans, Shibly emphatically denied they exist. (There ya go, when you can’t counter the facts, simply call them lies)

Any effort to overthrow the U.S. government would be blatantly illegal, he insisted, and if such training facilities existed they therefore would be forcefully entered and closed by U.S. law enforcement. (I guess nobody had a map of the 35 terrorist training camps across North America)

And when it comes to the root of conflicts in the Middle East, Shibly attributed the warfare during the last 60 plus years since Israel was established to “colonization” leading to a “cutting up” and a repopulation of the area at the expense of peoples with historic claims. This is what has given rise, he indicated, to terrorist groups such as Hasbollah and Hamas. (When in doubt, blame the JOOOOOOOOS)

Closer to home, Shibly allowed that he has been threatened from time to time and is vigilant. He and his family, he added, must take security precautions, but their determination to bridge the divide created by the misunderstandings of Islam is not diminished.

What does Canadian electronics retailer Future Shop have to do with the Best Buy-CAIR funding controversy?

Perhaps there’s more ‘Islam’ than meets the eye in Best Buy’s recent decision to become a Platinum Supporter of Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated, Hamas-linked CAIR? Not to mention its refusal to address angry customer complaints about it.

Several BNI readers reported that the electronics retailer Future Shop of Canada, which was acquired by Best Buy in 2001, was originally Iranian Muslim-owned. A quick check reveals:

Future Shop Ltd. is Canada’s largest retailer of consumer electronics, with more than 100 superstores selling computers, televisions, home audio equipment, home office equipment, major appliances, and cellular phones. In 2001 the company was purchased by American retailer Best Buy, which has maintained the Future Shop brand with great success.

Future Shop was founded in 1982 by Iranian entrepreneur Hassan Khosrowshahi, who left Iran to settle in Vancouver. Khosrowshahi, who had graduated from the University of Tehran with a degree in law and economics, was a member of the family that owned the Minoo Industrial Group, a large Iranian manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food products. Described by industry observers as “driven,” Khosrowshahi recognized the potential of consumer electronics and set out to create a chain that would dominate the Canadian market. His longtime associate Mohammad Kiabakhsh took on the role of president and CEO of the company, while Khosrowshahi himself served as chairman.READ MORE

They “respect that diversity” by financing a group tied to Hamas and pledged to turning America into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state?  They chose to “engage” their customers in ways that reflect “their traditions?” What traditions? Subverting democracy, women’s rights and religious plurality? Launching missiles into Israel?

Think again before buying your next flat-screen television or computing device from Best Buy. Not only do they recognize a Muslim holiday while ignoring Christmas, now the ailing retail giant has become a sponsor of Hamas-linked Islamist Group, CAIR, and refuses to rule out future funding to Islamic radicals.

Islamist-Watch  The struggling retail giant recently used profits from American consumers to fund the annual banquet of a group closely linked to Hamas. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) recently listed Best Buy as a “Platinum Sponsor.” Best Buy has refused to rule out future support for CAIR through numerous messages to its public relations department. The big box retailer is already in chaos amid the recent resignation of its CEO for personal misconduct, dwindling sales and bond downgrades.

The United States government named CAIR an “unindicted co-conspirator” to fund the terrorist group Hamas in America’s most significant terror financing trial. The U.S. also identified CAIR as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, sharing the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state through incremental, stealth jihad.

Utterly outrageous, yes. But outrage is not enough. Action is required. The Goal is a commitment from Best Buy to never again use profits from American consumers to finance Islamic radicals.

REASON #84 for never hiring a Muslim

TEXAS: Terror-linked CAIR will file lawsuit against IHOP for firing four Muslim employees.

WFAA  Four disgruntled employees of the IHOP restaurant chain claim they were fired in 2010 because of their national origin and their religious beliefs. The men are Arab and Muslim, and they allege that that was the basis for their termination.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission agreed, determining there was “reasonable cause” that the men were harassed and terminated because of their national origin. The men’s attorneys filed suit Tuesday against IHOP and Anthraper Investments, which owns the four local franchises involved in Plano, Fort Worth, Arlington and Burleson.

Attorney Jay Ellwanger said the men experienced a hostile work environment for a long time. (I guess they weren’t allowed to stop working to pray several times a day?)

In their lawsuit, the men state that they heard repeated discriminatory remarks from Anthraper Investments owners, such as “Arab men treat women poorly and with disrespect (the absolute truth), we’re going to let these people go and have new faces coming in.”

The lawsuit states that one owner equated Muslims waiting to break the fast during Ramadan to “dogs waiting for their meal.” 

Ellwanger said the men received one warning every year. “Every year on the anniversary of September 11th, our clients received and email from IHOP management telling them to lay low at their stores,” he said. An attorney for Anthraper Investments said the EEOC “simply got it wrong” in this case. He said the agency has a large backlog of charges and inadequate resources.

GEE, I WONDER IF THE LAWSUIT IS PAYBACK FOR THIS?

The EEOC reviewed more than 4,100 claims of religious discrimination and only ruled 6.6 percent had reasonable cause. This was one of those cases. ”They are just like everybody else,” Kane said of her clients. “They are American citizens who should not be treated differently based on their national origin or their religion.” (No, they aren’t, they are  citizens of dar al-harb – a territory of war or chaos, the name for the regions where Islam does not dominate, where divine will is not observed, and therefore where continuing strife is the norm)

IHOP said the employment practices of the company and franchisees are non-discriminatory and inclusive. “We have a long history of supporting diversity,” the IHOP statement said. “Our franchisee believes the allegations are without merit, and looks forward to the fair conclusion of this matter.”

“They made a lot of money over the years for IHOP, and to be treated like this — to be dismissed because of religious beliefs and national origins — it’s something all of us are protected from under American law,” Ellwanger said.

Uncle Dougie’s Weekly ‘Islamophobia’ Whinefest

Despite the fact that the FBI allegedly has cut all ties with CAIR for its terrorist associations, CAIR’s chief spokesIslamist, Ibrahim ‘Dougie’ Hooper, reports that CAIR’s Michigan cell is suing the FBI for what it calls ‘racial’ profiling of Muslims at the US-Canadian border.

No, Dougie, it isn’t racial profiling, it’s religious profiling, and the border agents are doing what they have to do to protect this country from the one group responsible for virtually all terrorist threats/attacks since 9/11 – MUSLIMS!

As for contacting the FBI about an alleged death threat sent to a group of pro-Palestinian Muslim students at Florida Atlantic University, did you forget to tell them that it was those Muslim students who plastered eviction notices on the dorm rooms of 200 Jews and Israel supporters? Not to worry, Dougie, the FBI is more interested in investigating students who support Palestinian terrorists by intimidating and harassing Jews.

One more thing, Dougie, why no mention of Shaima Alawadi, whose brutal murder you decided was an “Islamophobic hate crime?” Oh, that’s right, the police have ruled out all the Islamophobes in California and are focusing the investigation on the woman’s own family. Oops!

TAMPA School Board leaves door open for Muslim speakers who promote and support Islamic terrorism

With a slip of paper and no vote, Hillsborough County school officials decided to do nothing about banning speakers who represent terror-linked groups such as CAIR from indoctrinating public school students with a whitewashed version of Islam. The Made-for-Infidels version that hides the torture and violence Islam commands against all non-believers and the oppression of women and minorities that are among the main tenets of Islam.

I know that the last story I posted about this controversy from the Florida Family Association claimed victory against CAIR, but it appears that there is nothing official that will keep CAIR out of the Hillsborough Schools. You can be sure when enough time has elapsed, and they think no one is watching anymore, CAIR will be back. To all parents in every school district: BE VIGILANT. Make sure you ask your children what they are being taught about Islam and who is teaching it, not to mention ask why are they teaching anything about Islam in the public schools at all. If you don’t like what you hear, get a group of parents together and raise Hell with the school board.

For the past 10 days all we heard from terror-linked CAIR and its spokesIslamist, Ibrahim ‘Dougie’ Hooper, was  the presumption that the savage beating murder of a San Diego Iraqi mother of five was an ‘Islamophobic Hate Crime.’ Now that the evidence is pointing to a member of the family, CAIR is silent. TAMPA parents win one battle to stop representatives of CAIR from speaking in Tampa public schools

But the war to stop CAIR’s infiltration of schools, public institutions, and government continues…with David Caton of Florida Family leading the charge.

Hillsborough County School Board Chair Candy Olson “I think it is highly unlikely that a teacher .. if a teacher chooses to invite a speaker in would invite CAIR right now. They don’t want to be the target of this kind of thing.”

Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 which encouraged supporters to send emails to companies that advertised with The Tampa Tribune because of the paper’s continued bias for CAIR and its impact on the school board in Tampa.  The April 3, 2012 email alert reported on the Hillsborough County School Board’s failure, as we predicted, to adopt policy to prohibit political advocacy groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) from addressing students.  Some supporters thought we lost the battle because a policy was not adopted. We have won the battle for now.  Florida Family Association wants to make sure that it is clear to our supporters that we have effectively won the challenge to stop CAIR from addressing students for now.  Florida Family Association reported numerous reasons for declaring victory in previous email alerts which are all posted below.  Additionally, Florida Family Association has engaged in the following planned efforts. Steinbrenner teachers respond to our reward offer.  Florida Family Association received calls from two teachers who are interested in the $1,000 reward that Florida Family Association offered for information regarding future CAIR speaking engagements and $2,000 reward if the information is received more than a week before the engagement date. "It's a little disturbing," said Hassan Shibly of the reward from David Caton, inset. Florida Family Association is placing more pressure on Steinbrenner High School.  IF (and that is a big IF) CAIR is invited back we will organize a protest in front of the school as well as hand out information to parents during several days before and after the speaking engagement.  Additionally, we have inquired with officials at Steinbrenner High School about renting their auditorium to hold a public event which would present the truth about Islamist radical plans for America which include adoption of Sharia law.  Board Chair Candy Olson confirmed Florida Family Association’s assessment during a February 28, 2012 meeting that CAIR officials would not be addressing students anytime in the near future.  She said “I have to tell ya.  I know you don’t like to hear that I trust our teachers.  But I think it is highly unlikely that a teacher .. if a teacher chooses to invite a speaker in would invite CAIR right now.  They don’t want to be the target of this kind of thing.”  Additionally, Board Chair Candy Olson reiterated her conclusion in a news report during a March 30, 2012 workshop “Olson said she believes teachers and administrators at Steinbrenner – or any school – would be hesitant to bring CAIR into the classroom.” Thanks to your support we have won the battle to stop CAIR from addressing students.

CL TAMPA  A controversy has been provoked by some of the most notorious conservatives in the county, who have a problem with the board because the leader of the local branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Hassan Shibly, was invited to speak at Steinbrenner High School class in world history last year.

Shibly’s association with CAIR has stoked the anti-Islamic passions of a bloc of Hillsborough residents, led by conservative activists David Caton and Terry Kemple.

Their opposition forced the board on Friday afternoon to hold a workshop on the district’s policy regarding guest speakers in the classroom. The entire board, with the exception of Stacy White, agreed that nothing needed to be changed in the current policy.

SHIBLY, OLSON, CATON

The workshop began with 16-year-old Steinbrenner High sophomore Austin Ransdell testifying about Shibly’s presentation. The teen said Shibly had spoken, among other things, about Muslims’ pilgrimage to Mecca, as well as basic principles of Islam. 

Stacy White said he had read in newspaper accounts that Shibly had talked about stereotypes and prejudice against Muslims. Ransdell said that was accurate, that Shibly said there was a perpetuation in the culture of the notion that all Muslims are terrorists. Ransdell said Shibly had said that was false, “and that most of them don’t feel that way.” Olson interjected. “He didn’t say all of them?” referring to the line about Muslims not being terrorists.

White said he took issue with Shibly referring to anti-Muslim stereotypes, and that the only other interaction that Ransdell’s class had had with a different religion happened outside the classroom on a field trip. White said he wanted to be assured that no proselytizing was taking place in the classroom.

Later White added that CAIR had a “cloud of suspicion” lingering over it. The group for many years was considered the biggest mainstream Muslim organization in the U.S., and enjoyed positive relations with elected officials and the FBI. But that perception changed to some extent in 2008, when officials with the FBI said they were no longer “an appropriate liaison partner” because of evidence linking the organization and its founders to Hamas. The FBI’s decision was controversial, and the group still maintains positive relations with many elected officials.

PARENTS AGAINST CAIR came out in droves

With the exception of White, the rest of the board agreed that the rules already in place to deal with guest speakers were sufficient, and board member April Griffin complained that the whole exercise had been a waste of time. Saying she was resentful about the whole discussion, Griffin said shae had been “absolutely insulted over the conversations taking place over the last 12 months, insults comparing people to child molesters and KKK that just crossed a line that I thought was disgusting.”

For good measure Griffin blasted Caton and Kemple as well, and said she didn’t care if that offended anybody. “If I catch some flak for this, so be it. I’ve caught it in the past and it’s fine.” Olson said she has received a lot of emails about the controversy. Not so much about CAIR per se, she said, as about Sharia law and “all kinds of things that had nothing to do with CAIR.”

She then distributed a brief policy sheet about guest speakers that she was hoping to the board could sign off on, but School Board attorney Tom Gonzalez nixed that, saying that a public hearing would have to be set before the amended policies could be established. No doubt that hearing will provide plenty of opportunity for members of the public’s anti-Islamic statements to flourish.

HEY, CAIR! Did you miss this update on your ‘Islamophobic hate crime” story?

Gee, CAIR, you’ve been sending me press releases every day for the past week, demanding an FBI ‘hate crime’ investigation of the brutal slaying of a San Diego Iraqi welfare mother of five. You had the media and politicians convinced that a ‘white racist Islamophobe’ did it. Now, it looks more like a family member did it. But the family is in Iraq. What say you, CAIR? Huh? Huh?

CAIR, you are the ones who should be arrested for inciting Musim hatred. And make no mistake, most of America hates you and your kind.

Hamas-linked CAIR demands Department of Justice investigation of antacid scare on Muslim state congressman

The Iowa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-IA) called on the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate a letter with “very threatening” language and containing a mysterious powder that was sent to a Muslim representative in the Iowa House.

CAIR PR  The letter, sent to Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad (D-Des Moines), was opened by his clerk Tuesday afternoon on the House floor. When a white powder “billowed out” from the envelope, a hazardous materials team was called and the Statehouse was locked down for several hours. The powder was ultimately deemed harmless. Abdul-Samad is a member of CAIR-IA’s board of directors.

Des Moines Fire Department spokesman Brian O’Keefe told KCCI-TV that the powder was calcium carbonate, a common antacid used to treat indigestion.

The powder prompted a four-hour lockdown of the Statehouse.

“We urge the Department of Justice to review this case and to determine whether a federal civil rights investigation is warranted,” said CAIR-IA Executive Director Miriam Amer. Amer said the nature of the threat contained in the letter has not been made public. She noted that Iowa is one of dozens of states that have introduced legislation targeting Islamic principles legal brutality, or Sharia.
