Egypt’s military rulers were last night accused of killing more than 100 and injuring hundreds more supporters of former president Mohammed Morsi and the Islamofascist Muslim Brotherhood in the worst night of bloodshed since the fall of Hosni Mubarak.
UK Telegraph The Muslim Brotherhood claimed that at least 120 people had died, and hundreds more injured, when the army opened fire with live rounds. Sixty six were killed and a further 61 “clinically dead” on life support machines, they said. Some of the pro-Morsi demonstrators had been taking part in a sit-in protest at a mosque in Cairo. The health ministry, however, put the death toll in Cairo at 65.
The Sunday Telegraph saw the aftermath of the violence first hand on Saturday at a makeshift field hospital close to the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque, where dozens of corpses were laid out in a room and blood soaked the carpets. Hundreds of wounded lay resting and groaning on floor. Doctors and volunteers sought to treat the injured with minimal first aid kits.
Many aimed chants at Gen Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, the head of the armed forces, saying: “The people want to execute the butcher.” Gehad El-Haddad, a Muslim Brotherhood spokesman, on Saturday said the army had been “shooting to kill”, rather than “shooting to wound” when trying to disperse the protesters. “The bullet wounds are in the head and chest,” he said. Witnesses also reported snipers firing from rooftops.
The confrontation, in the early hours of Saturday morning, had followed a day when both pro and anti-Morsi demonstrators had held two huge rival protests in Cairo. It came as the climax to weeks of anger over the ousting of Mr Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically elected president, in a military coup.
Three weeks ago, 50 supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood were killed when the army opened fire outside the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque. But this weekend’s violence, the worst since Mr Mubarak, was overthrown as president during the revolution in 2011, was markedly worse and drew international condemnation
The threat of violence had been apparent since Wednesday, when General al-Sisi first called for mass rallies on Friday to give Egypt’s new military rulers a mandate to fight “violence and terrorism.”
Supporters of Mr Morsi, who was ousted on July 3, took his words as a disturbing coded message that they would no longer be tolerated, and that their sit-ins and rallies around the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque in east Cairo would be broken up.
On Friday the storm broke. Conflicting reports emerged as to the exact course of events, but officials claimed the Muslim Brotherhood supporters had tried to move away from the mosque, along the airport road towards the military parade ground where President Anwar Sadat was assassinated in 1981.
“The crowds were trying to push out of Rabaa and block the road,” one policeman told The Sunday Telegraph, standing on a street corner littered with rocks from the fight. “My troops asked them to go back and they refused and so we fired tear gas. We did not use live ammunition.”
Several witnesses at the scene, however, gave a much different account. One group of Mr Morsi’s supporters said some of the protesters had tried to march toward a nearby overpass, when they were met by a volley of tear gas from the police. They said the demonstrators had responded by hurling rocks and stones at the security forces, before the police then opened fire.
“There were snipers on the rooftops, I could hear the bullets whizzing past me,” said Ahmed el Nashar, 34, a media consultant for the Muslim Brotherhood, choking back his tears. “Man, people were just dropping.”
Mahmoud Ibrahim, a member of the brotherhood involved in the protests, said: “They kill us and then accuse us of being terrorists.” Leaning out of the window of his car, a man pulled up alongside the kerb to give his verdict. “This is like a war. Sisi is killing people in the street who have nothing but an opinion,” he said.
By midday on Saturday, medical workers had begun ferrying bodies wrapped in white shrouds to hospitals, carrying them on blood-soaked stretchers past a furious throng of Morsi loyalists.
“Allahu akbar! [God is greatest],” chanted the crowd that formed a corridor to waiting ambulances. Some wept, and women ululated as each body was taken from the makeshift morgue in a marble-floored section of the mosque.
William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, condemned the use of force against protesters. “I call on all sides to refrain from violence,” he said. “Now is the time for dialogue, not confrontation. It is the responsibility of leaders on all sides to take steps to reduce tensions.” (Oh, STFU, nobody cares what you think)
Mr Morsi was removed by the military when, in the eyes of many, he became too authoritarian. On Saturday, the country’s interim government announced that he would be taken to the same prison which holds Mr Mubarak.
Adly Mansour, the interim president, said that his government seeks to include everyone, but it will not accept lawlessness, blocked roads and attacks on state institutions. He urged the pro-Morsi protesters to go home, promising they won’t be pursued or arrested.
Absolutely wonderful news. Carry on!
But the passage ends this way:
Isaiah 19:25
The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”
The Egyptian were the first to come to Christianity in a massive way in the first century. Christianity was the recognized primary religion of Egypt at least 250 years before Rome. The Copts are a faithful lot and He will bless them. They have been through much worse than this and survived over the centuries.
Amen, Sista! I’ve been looking for that very verse… Thanks for posting it.
My pleasure. Hadenoughalready please pray for the Egyptians, especially for the Copts. They are lovely people and they are doing the heavy lifting for all of us who have been fortunate enough to be born in the West. I think of Egypt as my second home, I have spent lots of time there and I love the people dearly. There are lots of people that had the misfortune of being born into a Muslim family and we all know the punishment to be an apostate, I am acquainted with many and they have been very vocal in the outer of Morsi as well as protection for the Copts. Please understand they are all not bad people even though the ideology and practice of Islam is.
I’ve known Muslims of both camps. Some even despise Islam because of the way it’s been perverted. So called “Christians”, of long ago are no less guilty. The difference being is TIME and Muslims need to grow out of the mindset that they need to dominate. It’s one thing to go out and preach, it’s another to issue ultimatums. Those days have to be buried with the bones of the intolerant.
Had, Islam has NOT been perverted. All the violence and hatred are inherent in the abrogated quran, the only one that they follow now.
I guess I worded that wrong. I meant the instruction to “spread the word” had been twisted to subjugate all….not just teach.
I don’t care what “religion” or faith another believes. I only ask that others leave me and mine alone.
Having read the Old Testament, there are similarities but none took it to the extremes that the qur’an does.
You are correct Miss BNI, with death being the punishment for leaving the fold the reasonable “Muslim” is either ignorant of what is really in the Koran, a closet apostate or practices their faith a la carte in the flavor they like.
Mrs. P, is it true that the vast majority of Muslims have never read a quran themselves?
Yes it is. Also consider that a good Muslim should be able to read it in Arabic, because apparently Allah prefers Arabic and can understand it better. As we know there are millions of Muslims in non-Arabic speaking countries, add the fact that this crazy “religion” is mostly practiced in 3rd world countries where vast majorities of the population can’t even read. And of course most women never go to the mosque (we can’t have the sexes co-mingle or have a feminine voice weight in) so what you get is a testosterone charged, heavy illiterate audience that takes the Imans opinion as the word of truth. Obviously the masses are easily manipulated.
Another problem in these countries is that Western thought is not really taught. I have a friend who is an appostate, when he attended university in Turkey and was introduced to courses in Western civilization, philosophy, and literature, he said his entire mind was opened, it rocked his world. He knew the West was for him, he immigrated, eventually rejected Islam and loves his life among the Kuffir. Several years ago as he and I were making dinner and drinking a glass of wine long before I even knew anything about Islam he told me something that has come to be a real A-ha moment and a big warning. We were discussing religion, Christianity vs Islam, and he set down what he was working on and looked very intensely at me and said, “Never trust ANYTHING a Muslim tells you, we are taught from the cradle to HATE you. And the only thing we hate more than a Jew is a Christian.” A couple of years later we visited him and stayed at his home, his lovely wife also confirmed what he had told me. She is not an appostate, but she struggles with many of the inconsistencies in Islam. She is grateful to be a citizen in a Western country because they have a gay son and they have confirmed to me what would have happened to him had they remained in Turkey.
Mrs. P, it’s criminal that ex-Muslims are not given a voice in the media.
Thanks for the insight. I’ll stand corrected as well….
Great news , love it , millions more to go hopefully
Peter, there are not millions of Morsi supporters in Egypt…a few hundred thousand at best.
“I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian– brother will fight against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.” Isaiah 19:2
Good news. The more Egypt descends into civil war like Syria, the better. Happy days. Hopefully, it becomes full blown. Although the Saudis have ensured nobody will starve there for a year, the fuller their bellies, the better they are able to fight each other. Which is a plus…
Not a plus for Egypt! The average Egyptians are VERY GOOD people, they are a peaceful lot. El Sisi is no fool and he knows in a modern world there is no place for the Muslim Brotherhood or their fellow terrorists. Both Muslim and Christian on this issue are aligned, lets give them credit and be supportive of what they are trying to accomplish, it is a very good start and goal. Also do not forget that 10% of the Egyptian population are Coptic Christian, a civil war would be disastrous for them and they are the backbone of the Egyptian civilization and economy. They were the architects of a civil society from ancient times.
As ugly a word as “extermination” can be, it is not inappropriate in its use regarding the elimination of pathologically savage MB types and their general ilk. That Egyptian general, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, has thrown down the gauntlet. Good in the long term for Eygptians or not? Hoping for the best.
It’s getting even better: LIBYA following in the footsteps of Egypt
More than 1,000 inmates escape Libyan prison near Benghazi – Lybians want army also and attack Muslim Brotherhood
http://rt.com/news/libya-jail-escape-inmates-686/
we got to be careful morsi don’t end up here ! they better hang him before obama can rescue him give him the keys to america ! you know how cair would fit in . I put nothing past the little guttersnipe to set it up .
BLR, OMG, I never thought of that. But you’re right, the muslim-in-chief might give him asylum. Nah, the Egyptian Army will not let him go, especially into the hands of their enemy – Obama.
Don’t think the military will let him go, they have nearly 100 years experience dealing with Muslim Brotherhood crap. Why do you think Nasser crushed them In the 1950’s, they are dangerous sociopathic terrorist murders.
Mrs. P, I know. Didn’t Mubarak keep a lot of the Brothers in jail? And the ones who were exiled came back as soon as Morsi took power. Do you who or how many he is charged with murdering?
Miss BNI, after the 1952 Revolution the Muslim Brotherhood burnt the center of Cairo. From that point forward Nasser over his 20 years in power used his secret police to systematically get rid of them (kill them) one by one (thousands of them) Mubarak continued the practice also knowing their danger. They were and are a plague, the events of June 30, 2013 show how much the Egyptian people hate them. Important to remember Mubarak jailed Morsi, he was released after the Arab Spring allegedly by Hamas operatives.
For anyone who wishes to argue Morsi was democratically elected without being properly vetted, look at what happened in the last two American elections. Voter fraud in both countries for sure, the Muslim Brotherhood had been preparing decades for their chance so they were very well organized in all the chaos after the fall of Mubarak. I see lots of similarities between the MB and the Democratic Party. In Egypt the MB handed out sugar and cooking oil for a promised vote, in the US they handed out cell phones and food stamps. How about ‘them’ Black Panthers intimidating people at the polls, just like in a third world country.
Mrs P, on some of the Sunday Morning shows, I heard politicians being very critical of Gen. Sisi. Must have gotten their talking points from the O Regime.
Right on! That’s the way it WAS, that’s the way it IS!
Were they Democrats and Rhinos? Most likely they are upset because Sisi is not taking orders from the US as is usually the case. I am sure it is absolutely pissing Obama off that Sisi knows the real score and put a STOP to it. Looks like he is caring more about the well being of his fellow Egyptians than about the Obama agenda.
Obama’s policies in the Middle East have brought millions of people to the brink of starvation and complete chaos and civil wars. For all you Obama supporters try living in that mess, your “Anointed One, is an evil disaster who has supported and funded terrorism at every opportunity. History will remember him with the likes of Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Hitler, and Khomeini.
we are playing double jeopardy here hope you are right a muzzy fake pres and a muzzie general who likes our military aid , neither long on trust .
only 100 kia? it’s a start but not a good one.
When the tyrant Morsi threatened (promised) the military that he would replace the existing military administration with his “Islamic Brotherhood lackeys” the Central command realized they would soon be in Jail without trial and their families mistreated by the same brotherhood; the same as what happened in Turkey Erdogan imprisoning his military before they could imprison him.
The difference between Egypts Military and Turkeys military is this.
In Turkey the Military said “This can’t be happening”
Whereas in Egypt the Military said.
“This ain’t gonna happen” ( or Arabic words to that effect)
pierre, they saw Morsi firing some of the top brass and replacing them, so they knew what would happen to them. Funny thing is, most people seemed to think Gen. Sisi was pro-Muslim Brotherhood, some even thought is was MB. Guess they figured wrong.
Good news. If it was 1000 vermin shot, it would be very good news. When it hits 100,000 like syria it will be great news. Thanks BNI for keeping track of the good news.
SWEET
Oh, those rotten racists! How dare they kill those trying to kill them! On the other hand, I predict that Egyptian patriots will rule Egypt long after british politicians have given up the pretext that mohammadans DON’T rule what’s left of Britain.
Islam does not work as a political philosophy. Islam can only act politically as an oligarchy. The only way to ‘vote’ in Islam is to EXTERMINATE the entire oligarchy and replace it with a new one…hence, ALL of Islamic history. Islam works through terror.
Democracy isn’t only about elections it’s also about the rule of law, segregation of powers and civil rights like freedom of speech. This is what muzzies don’t understand, but obviously in Egypt there are a lot of free-minded people, so let’s hope for the best.
Egypt has millions of wonderful people, it has always been the most open of the Islamic countries. Lots of smart people, the most educated population in the Arab world. In hindsight all of this will most likely prove to be a very good thing, if Muslims living in an Islamic country don’t want Sharia Law I think we are heading in the right direction. I know both Christians and Muslims in Egypt and they are aligned in this.
They sure love the drama.
One thing, the crotch shot one in the sixth picture down won’t be doing much raping anymore.
Hardiharhar har, Obama. Your team is getting chopped up. Next it will be in Libya. The Libyans have had it with the MB as well, They just ransacked Brotherhood offices in Libya and if the MB acts as despicably as one can expected them to, they’ll get a good thrashing there, too. Maybe this is becoming the Muslim Spring where secular Muslims say “ENOUGH” to the Islamists and lunatic Sharia promoters.
There goes Obama’s dream. I suspect he thought by promoting the Brotherhood he could create a global Caliphate to run after Americans finally dump him.
hhh, and don’t forget Tunisia, where the govt killed an opposition secular leader. Things are about to explode there too.
Hah, thanks to the Devil-in-Chief in the WH.
Did you see Algerian, Tunisian and Egyptian youth doing ‘haram’ things like dancing and singing?
Also just few years ago there was a demostration in tunisia where women (without hij… ops, rag) and men show a signboard with written ‘Develop your brain instead of your beard!’
GW, the Libyans have attacked the Muslim Brotherhood offices there. And in Tunisia, the govt just killed the secularist opposition leader. Look for Egypt 2 in both places.
The Egyptians party like none other, they love music, dancing, and good scotch! Have personally seen many Muslim Egyptians enjoy all three! Yes, folks all is not lost!
In Libya muslim brother took the power with force. People didn’t even elected them
“Accused of killing 100” Now that’s CLEARLY wrong. Let me fix it. “Commended for putting down 100 Lawless animals”.
Just a hundred??? Damn!
I think they need more practice…….and more zeal.
Had, they are waiting for the real fight, when the MB, who is now staging (along with Hamas and al-Qaeda) at a hotel in Gaza for an attack they have promised on the Egyptian military.
Excellent! Thanks for the “heads-up”. I’m gonna run out n get some popcorn…I think I have time….lol
Had, yes, I can hardly wait for the Brotherhood jihadists to take on the American- and Israeli-trained, American-equipped, million man Egyptian Army. Hee Hee.
It’ll be interesting, if not fun, to watch…..(got the popcorn)
It’s going to be a great show!
Oh, YES! I’m gonna really enjoy this…… I’m sure you, and millions more will as well. Maybe then will the American people finally stand up and raise hell…..in concert with other “freedom loving folks”, worldwide.
that location needs a little Mossad action
Pro Morsi supporters say that he’s a democratically elected president, might be so, but above all are the human rights; being democratically elected doesn’t give you the right to do everything. Even if you have the support of more than 50% of the population you can’t do whatever you want on the part of the population that doesn’t support you.You brake laws, you stomp on human rights, YOU’RE OUT, no matter how many supporters you have!
meh, Hamas was ‘democratically’ elected too.
So was Hitler!
What you may be unaware of is that the Muslim Brotherhood was illegal in Egypt for decades. Morsi was in prison until he was “released” (busted out by Hamas) in 2011 after the Arab Spring. Morsi’s hands are covered in blood he needs to be swinging at the end of a rope with the rest of his Brotherhood friends. The Muslim Brotherhood are terrorists, so proud of the Egyptians for taking charge when they saw the course they were headed on. At least they had the common sense and GUTS to end the reign of evil, wish Americans would get a clue. Trust me they have only just begun to clean house. Sources from Egypt tell me it will take about a year, keep firing! 120 down, thousands to go, perhaps when finished we can once again visit the beautiful land of the Pharaoh’s and the cradle of civilization.
Never forget Muslim Brotherhood = Hamas; Hamas = Muslim Brotherhood. Americans wake up Michelle Bachman had it CORRECT our WH has been infiltrated. Why is Obama and Anne Patterson so concerned with what happens to the despot Morsi? Could it be perhaps the enhanced techniques the Egyptians are NOT afraid to use when they interrogate. Wonder what could be coming out about Benghazi and the 8 Billion dollars Obama allegedly gave Morsi to set Hamas up in the Sinai. Oh, ya and how about the money and weapons Obama has been funneling to the “rebels” (al Qaeda) in Syria. Yup, looks like El Sisi knows LOTS of stuff, why else do you think he told Obama to basically SHUT UP and get your nose out of our business. Ever heard of that happening in the history of the US! The dirt on Obama should earn him a spot next to Morsi on the gallows, can everyone say TREASON!
Thanks for the insight, into Egypt, Mrs. Pharaoh.
It makes me giddy, thinking about Morsi and the POS, in the WH, swinging from the same tree.
My pleasure. The Egyptians are doing the right thing, the educated class at very smart people! I know I married one!
This just proves WHY the extremists don’t want their kids, girls, in schools. The more ignorant they are, the more loyal they become.
This is on the realm of conspiracy theory, but maybe some western leaders like Obama are supporting these obviously evil terrorist regims because they need a boogie man against us.
meh, Obama IS the boogie man against us.
Miss BNI speaks the truth! Meh, no conspiracy theories. Obama is in bed with them. The reason you didn’t see much on the MSM the week of June 30 is there were as many signs against Obama as there were Morsi. The US Ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson is reviled by the Egyptians. I know many Egyptians who are eye witnesses and have been on the ground during all of this.
Italians (that are stupid) say the same, but the same italians asked to berlusconi to leave and were happy when he did.
Morsi was supported by more than 50% of egyptians because he cheated.
so did obama
Would you say the same about our so called ‘president’ Obama. We the people of America should learn a lesson from the Egyptians. We Americans MUST wake up and protect our freedom and “true” democratic way of life.
Isn’t it different when the shoes are on the other foot. Could this be the start of the demise of Islam? Sane people have had enough of these demons in pyjamas!
I though exactly the same. In history, all tyrants ended like that. Then, the long road to democracy.
a road that we’re still on
Someone said that “Within the next ten years islam will be no more” this is just a last ditch effort to keep it alive. Hopefully it is true, if it is we will not need the Crusades again. Peace to all non-muslims who agree.
When someone told you that “Within the next ten years Islam will be no more” the source of where they heard that needs to be found out.
I suspect that such statements are originating from Islamists.
Who by making them are successfully coopting the naive non-Moslems into not taking the Moslem war against the world seriously.
A paradigm shift is needed to understand the statement that Islam will be gone in 10 years.
Today the religion of Islam is divided so Islam of today is fractured and is called Dar al-Amm
when Dar al-Islam comes it means there will be no fractured Islam in fact there will be no other religions except the one World of islam. Ergo Islam will no longer be spoken of as a religion as it will not be apart from anything else it will simply be “the world” – so Islam as it exists today will cease to exist as you have heard. Islamists hope this is in less than 10 years. In the meantime they intend to take the world down through Dar el-Harb – Islams refining War against mankind.
This is the first video I have seen were Muslims are voicing their disapproval of the Brotherhood.Never have I seen any American Muslim or the head Muslim in chief do the same.
Courageous people in Egypt, throw these monsters into the sewer they belong in.
Then we will start here at home,
Allah FUBAR.
its a good start
