She never mentions the word “Muslim” or “Islamic” or even “migrant” when referring to the heinous truck jihad attack on innocent civilians, yet vows to do more for the victims and affected families after the government offered virtually no support after the deadly terrorist attack. An open letter by some of the bereaved accused Merkel of failing to even offer her personal condolences following the attack.
TheGuardian A year after Anis Amri, a Tunisian whose asylum application had been turned down months before, rammed a truck into the crowded market at the Breitscheidplatz, killing 12 people and wounding 70, the authorities have been criticized for security failings and their clumsy handling of the aftermath of the assault.
In the hours after the assault, which was claimed by Islamic State, politicians had put on a brave front and repeated the mantra that Germany would not be cowed by terror. But Steinmeier said such rhetoric had done little for the victims. “So soon after the attack … these words don’t sound simply defiant and self-confident, but also strangely cold and detached,” he said.
Police also faced criticism after it emerged that Anis Amri, the terrorist who arrived in Germany in 2015 and registered under numerous identities, should have been deported. Amri was shot and killed four days after the attack by police in Italy, where he had previously lived.
“Today is a day of sadness, but also a day of our will to make better things that did not work well,” Merkel said, adding that she had offered to meet the bereaved again in a few months. (But not word about deporting any Muslims or stopping or at least reducing the number of Muslim fake asylum seekers who continue to be allowed to enter Germany on a massive scale)
AFD (Alternative for Germany) party’s Dr. Nicolaus Fest says “Merkel is a Sociopath.” For the victims of the Christmas Market attack by a ‘Merkel Muslim,’ it took her a whole year to visit the victims’ families…and this only after public pressure. On the other hand, it was less than a week that the Chancellor was consoling the imam of an alleged attack on a mosque and his family.
