Vivien, 24, was brutally stabbed and critically wounded by a 17-year-old Syrian Muslim migrant last Saturday, when she and her boyfriend were shopping for groceries in the small German town of Burgwedel (see report Bloody Weekend – Knife Attacks All Over Germany). She was put into a coma and had to undergo emergency lifesaving surgery. She remains in critical condition.
VladTepesBlog (h/t Susan K) Prosecution has opened an investigation against the boy for battery. His Muslim family, who came to Germany as refugees in 2013, issued a statement that they are sorry about the incident, however, “they want it investigated as what she did that made him stab her”.
Four days after the knife attack, on Wednesday, she awoke from the artificial coma and remains in intensive care. The doctors had to remove her spleen, and part of her pancreas. Her ribs are broken.
On Saturday, she and her boyfriend were shopping at a supermarket in Burgwedel (Lower Saxony), and happened upon two Muslim cousins who were wrestling in the store. Vivien, who is a shop assistant, asked the two to stop it.
Outside, the couple encountered the two cousins again, but this time with one of their brothers (17). He stabbed a knife into Vivien’s stomach which came very close to being a fatal injury. Her boyfriend said, “I thank God that Vivien is still alive. The doctors said, two centimeters that made the difference between life and death.”
The alleged perpetrator is in custody and remains silent. He came to Germany as an alleged Syrian refugee in 2013. He is charged with dangerous battery, so far.
The victim’s attorney Björn Nordmann: “In my preliminary assessment of the issue it is an attempted murder. The alleged perpetrator knew he could kill her when he stabbed her brutally.”
A spokesman for the public Prosecutor: “Our investigations are at the beginning, we still have to interview witnesses. It is possible that we will then assess the issue differently.”
