The Netherlands Prosecution Department says a pre-election anti-Islam video put out by Dutch MP Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom (PVV) is NOT illegal because it is aimed at the religion, not its adherents.
INN The public prosecution department in the Netherlands has decided not to take legal action against the anti-Islamic party PVV for a propaganda video about Islam that it intends to broadcast ahead of local elections, the Dutch News website reported.
The decision stated that the video does not incite to hatred, discrimination or violence because it is focused on the religion of Islam rather than on followers of Islam. PVV leader Geert Wilders welcomed the decision, noting that voters would be exposed to “the truth about Islam” again during election campaigning.
The video in question is composed of a long series of words describing Islam as “discrimination,” “violence,” “terror,” “misogyny,” “homophobia,” “anti-Semitism,” “forced marriage,” “honor killing,” and “totalitarian,” among other epithets. The screen also drips blood as eerie music plays in the background.
