17-month old toddler, Willow-Ivy Doherty, could be scarred for life after two very young Somali Muslim brothers bit the girl 15 times on her face and body at a play center. But you’d never know it from the media coverage that fails to identify her attackers, even though the victim’s mother had clearly stated their ethnicity in her Facebook post.
METRO (h/t Andrea P) The girl was left with bruises and cuts all over her body after the two Somali children attacked her in the toilet area of Little Bees in Seacroft, Leeds, last Friday, The toddler suffered four bites to her face, two to her fingers, three to her back, several to her head, one to her ear, one to her shoulder, one to her wrist and one to her leg.
The boys’ mother laughed off the attack, saying “That’s just what children do.”
Willow’s mother Becky has since claimed that one of the boys, who is said to be around 3-years-old, was found with ‘a big smile on his face, with blood all around his mouth’ after the incident.
The 33-year-old mum told The Mirror: ‘She looks like she’s been savaged by a dog, not a child.’ Becky claimed the children had to be separated by another customer after a child and his older brother allegedly attacked Willow-Ivy.
She said: ‘She had pulled the boy off Willow. He had hold of her neck.’ The toddler was taken to hospital and received treatment for her cuts and injections for Hepatitis B. Becky added that the boys’ mother didn’t come forward until she shouted: ‘Where is your mum?’
A spokesperson for Little Bees told the Mirror that Willow-Ivy had received first aid after the incident and issued a warning to parents about supervising their children.
West Yorkshire Police were also called to the centre and confirmed an assault occasioning actual bodily harm was recorded but that it had been finalised as the boys’ were under the age of criminal responsibility.
