Egyptian police say they have killed 40 suspected Islamic terrorists who were planning a spate of attacks on churches and tourist sites, following a deadly roadside bombing of a tour bus on Friday. The alleged terrorists were killed in raids in the Sinai Peninsula and the Giza governorate, which was also the scene of the tour bus attack where three Vietnamese tourists and an Egyptian guide were killed.
Telegraph Early on Friday evening, a roadside bomb hit a tour bus in the Al-Haram district near the Giza pyramids. A statement from the public prosecutor’s office said 11 other tourists from Vietnam and an Egyptian bus driver were wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, the first attack to target tourists since 2017.
Two raids in the Giza governorate killed 30 “terrorists”, while the remaining 10 were killed in the North Sinai, the Egyptian interior ministry said in a statement.
It said the authorities took action after receiving a tip-off about the suspects preparing a series of attacks against state buildings, tourist attractions and churches. “Information was received by the national security that a group of terrorists were planning to carry out a series of aggressive attacks targeting state institutions, particularly economic ones, as well as tourism, armed forces, police and Christian places of worship,” the statement said.
Over the past two years, militant attacks against Christians in Egypt – usually targeting churches or buses carrying pilgrims to remote desert monasteries – have killed over a hundred people.
i would have no problem with that. I have my own suggestions though they kill 1 person we round up 1,000 Muslims and eliminate them. We also destroy 1,000 Mosques for every christian building destroyed. i think they might take the hint sooner rather than later. If we started doing that.
hahahaha…that’s the way…..<need more good news like this every day !!
Egypt is severely overcrowded, dirty, poor, Muslum shithole. Tourism brings desperately needed revenue. I have no confidence in their police that they got the terrorists. Egypt has no shortage of terrorist extremists, they will just grab some & execute them instead. They care a lot more about their tourists than their Christian citizens. By the way, Im sure those Muslums didn’t intend to kill Vietnamese. Another Muslum f**k up.
Fight fire with gun fire ? 🙂 Bonus toot: Never misspell Ray Conniff again …. two n’s, two f’s and two counter weight’s on his Conn trombone ?
We here in the U.S. need to adopt a system of instant, on the spot justice for terrorists but unfortunately lack the balls to do it. The muzslime cancer is here and looks like it is growing.
The only good jihadist is a dead one! When they attack and are caught they must be killed.
…better yet, even before they attack.
Wrong!
The correct word is ‘muslim’
The Egyptian govt, and that includes Sisi, don’t give a rats’ ass about the slaughter of Coptic Christians and church burnings and bombings.
This is all about tourist dollars.
Read carefully … Egypt tourist numbers 2018 are about 5 million LESS than 2010. OUCH !!!!
Number of tourists in Egypt 2018
The tourism sector is a pillar of the country’s economy and a key earner of foreign currency. The official, who declined the be named, said visitor numbers during the first half of 2018 jumped 41 percent from a year before to about 5 million. A total of 14.7 million people visited Egypt in 2010 before the uprising.Aug 29, 2018
Thats the only solution that will work over time. I would add a couple of provisos first. Increase the casualty ratio to 100 to one. They kill one of ours we kill 100 of them. Second we destroy one hundred of the most radical mosques douse the site with pig blood and offal so it cannot be used by muslims again. Third Any attacks during other religions holy days they get theirs during Ramadan and the HAJ. That might make a point. an Example Norway deported 3000 Muslims a few years ago and crime DROPPED substantially
Hammurabi, Abraham, and an Eye for an Eye
In the Torah: Mishpatim, literally “ordinances”, which is primarily composed of legal matters, as its name suggests. One of the most famous Torah phrases is found in this parasha: “you shall give a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth…” (Exodus 21:23-24). In legal terms, this is known by the Latin lex talionis, the law of retaliation.
the header line on this blog has one major mistake as I see it delete PERHAPS and that will be a problem solution .Down to the terrorists level is required no more nicey nicey rules of engagement fix the problem and worry about the inquiry paperwork etc when the cleanup is finished. The western Governments are obsessed with what a minority might think or say and this is the weakness the terrorists exploit to their advantage .We have to be harder in the way we deal with these attacks that makes them think what the repercussions will be.Egypt Israel China Russia are examples of this it may not stop attacks yet but far better than do nothing.
SK, we in the US still have a system of habeas corpus that entitles the accused to the judicial process.
Not if there are terrorists….they give up that right….
I wish.
At least, in the U.S. you have a president willing to fight jihadists. Here in canuckistan, our p.m is welcoming the bastards.
Dave, just like Obama did. Hoping Trudeau will get you your own Trump.
I like a happy story!
