Not even for Katie Wells, the 19-year-old legal assistant who suffered a seriously fractured pelvis and devastating mental issues after she was run over by the Somali-looking Muslim, Mohammed Abdul, 21 (photo below).
Daily Mail (h/t MarvinW) Angered over being kicked out of the club by a bouncer for disruptive behavior, Abdul threatened to come back and kill people at the club. And come back he did.
Katie Wells, now 19, was enjoying a night at Blake’s nightclub in Gravesend, Kent, when Mohammed Abdul, 21, ploughed onto the dancefloor in his Suzuki Vitara 4×4, shortly before midnight in March last year. She, along with seven others, were injured by Abdul,
Revelers, who had been waiting for a guest appearance of rap artist Giggs were sent sprawling ‘like dominoes’ on impact, Maidstone Crown Court was told.Miss Wells (right), then 18, went under the vehicle and suffered the pelvis fracture and bruising to her left arm and had tyre marks imprinted on her thighs. She later recalled hearing ‘a massive bang’ before being hit by the front passenger side.
Miss Wells returned to work two months after Abdul’s murder bid but could not cope and was again signed off for sick leave. She has had treatment for depression and remains on painkillers.
By September last year she had still not returned full-time, and her commute by train left her in need of wearing a priority seating badge. Her medication has also caused side-effects and anxiety, derailing her promising career at a London law firm.
A jury at Maidstone Crown Court today took just 90 minutes to find Abdul, the son of a London cabby, guilty of two counts of attempted murder. He is expected to be sentenced tomorrow morning.
