In its latest attempt to show that perhaps they really don’t hate Jews as much as they keep demonstrating they do, the Labour Party in Britain (headed by unapologetic anti-Semite Jeremy Corbyn) posted the following Passover greeting on social media:
Israellycool The problem is that loaf of bread drawing in the illustration. Jews do NOT eat bread during the 10 days of Passover. When the Pharaoh freed the Israelites, it is said that they left in such a hurry that they could not wait for bread dough to rise (aka ‘leaven’). In commemoration, for the duration of Passover no leavened bread is eaten (they eat Matzoh crackers instead), for which reason Passover is called the feast of unleavened bread in the Torah.
Being utterly ignorant about Jews and their customs is probably not the message Labour would have wanted to get across. I wonder whose half-baked idea this was?
