Palestinian Gay rights activist: “They (Palestinian leaders) are calling us traitors and corrupt people and many are calling for our execution. We are afraid for our lives.” The Palestinian leadership has banned all LGBT activities and urges people to spy on and report Gay rights activists, because they are “damaging to the fabric of Palestinian society”…unlike in Israel, where Gay rights policy is the law.
Breitbart Palestinian Authority security forces have been instructed to arrest any people participating in such events and PA police released a statement warning that such arrests would lead to trial.
The ban came after it was announced that a grassroots group, Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society, was planning to hold an event for its members in Nablus at the end of the month.
Defending the ban, spokesperson for the PA police Luay Zreikat said that such activities are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.” Zreikat added that Al-Qaws activities contravened “Palestinian traditions and customs, especially in the city of Nablus,” which is a predominantly conservative Muslim city.
He further charged such “dubious parties” of working to “create discord and harm civic peace in Palestinian society,” and called on Palestinians to report any person connected with the group to the police. Al-Qaws responded that, as a result of the PA police’s “incitement,” members of the group have received threats of violence.
An unnamed member of Al-Qaws told the Jerusalem Post that since the police announcement, he and his friends had received hundreds of threats and messages of hate from Palestinians.“The attack on us is unprecedented,” he said. “They are calling us traitors and corrupt people and many are calling for our execution. We are afraid for our lives.”
Meanwhile, ‘pro-Palestinian’ LGBT groups in the West are busy hijacking gay events to spread their anti-Israel message. In several countries there have been “Queers for Palestine” marches.
Israel Today It is somewhat ironic that the most vocal supporters of the Palestinian cause are ultra-liberals who also champion issues such as gay rights, given that Palestinian society does not tolerate homosexuals. In other words, they are fighting for the creation of a state that would suppress the very rights they demand everywhere else…and actually enjoy in the State of Israel.
According to the organizers, the rally had been called in “solidarity with the Palestinian struggle” and against the “politics of White entitlement.” The German gay rights group described itself as being “firmly committed to anti-oppression, including against all forms of racism, colonialism, ableism, whorephobia, queer- and transphobia.”
Those who remain in Palestinian Authority-controlled areas must live secretive lives. In the past, some Palestinian homosexuals have been brutally and publicly killed. By contrast, every year, Tel Aviv plays host to a gay pride parade attended by over 100,000 people.
The Associated Press report noted that in order to live openly and without risk to their lives, Palestinian homosexuals must actually flee to Israel, the very state that champions of the Palestinian cause claim oppresses Arabs.
Even Muslims in America advocate execution for homosexuals:
‘QUEERS AGAINST ISRAEL’ – the ONLY country in the Middle East that doesn’t oppress homosexuals.
MID EAST TRUTH The dirty little secret QUEERS AGAINST ISRAEL must suppress is that Israel is the safest refuge in the Middle East for persecuted homosexuals, including Palestinians.
In keeping with its commitment to civil liberties, every year Israel’s government actually grants some gay Palestinians legal residency to avoid Palestinian homophobic oppression. Israel is one of the few Middle Eastern countries to repeal its anti-sodomy law – from British Mandate days.
Israel’s Equal Employment Opportunity Act, as amended, prohibits discrimination against employees based on their sexual orientation or marital status. Israel has even banned discrimination in its army. Openly gay Israelis serve in parliament, others are popular celebrities. Out Magazine has deemed Tel Aviv “the gay capital of the Middle East.”
By contrast, throughout the Arab and Muslim world, including the Palestinian territories, gays are hunted down, blackmailed, imprisoned, tortured and occasionally executed. Gay Palestinians are often treated as collaborators and have been brutalized in the most horrific of ways.
