Abrar Omeish has been elected by Democrats to the Fairfax County School Board in Northern Virginia. Omeish is the daughter of Muslim Brotherhood official, Esam Omeish, who advocated for Palestinian violent jihad and hired al-Qaeda imam, Anwar Al-Awlaki, for the radical Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Virginia. Al-Awlaki, killed by U.S. forces after he went to Yemen, was the imam known for ministering to the 9/11 hijackers and Nidal Hasan who massacred 13 soldiers at Fort Hood.
Zuhdi Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), says the Fairfax County Democratic Committee’s embrace of Abrar Omeish shows they are dupes who have embraced the most extreme segment of the U.S. Muslim community.
“Abrar Omeish is yet another candidate in American politics who unabashedly represents the American Islamic extremist movement and its theocratic separatist platform. Any denials otherwise are sheer ignorance or a bigotry of low expectations laid at the altar of identity politics,” Jasser said. “Her endorsers hail from America’s most prominent radical Islamists of the past generation and she carries the torch of the next generation of Islamists.”

IPT The daughter of one of America’s most prominent radical Islamic leaders became the youngest woman and one of the first Muslim women elected to office in Virginia on Tuesday. Abrar Omeish, 24, won an at-large seat on the Fairfax County school board as part of a Democratic wave that also gave the party control of both houses of Virginia’s General Assembly.
Her campaign received support from her father, former Muslim American Society (MAS) President Esam Omeish. Prosecutors say MAS is the Muslim Brotherhood’s “overt arm” in the United States.
While President of MAS, Eman Omeish rallied in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, celebrating Hamas, and calling for the elimination of the Jewish state:
Omeish had to resign from a state immigration board in 2006 after the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) released video of him endorsing violent jihad at a 2000 rally. He lauded Palestinians for learning the “jihad way” to achieve liberation.
Esam Omeish, an ally of designated terrorist group CAIR, tweeted a list of words that Americans should never use because to do so makes them Islamophobic:
In 2016, he claimed that few Muslims had the same adherence to duty and morals as the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2011, he admitted that he used to belong to the Brotherhood . He’s also a longtime board member at the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, which has a history of supporting Brotherhood causes.
Esam Omeish attended a reception for former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi during Morsi’s United Nations visit. Morsi, ousted from office by the Egyptian military after just one year because of his radical Islamic leadership, is a longtime Egyptian Brotherhood leader. Omeish posted a picture of the event on his Facebook page and noted: “His Excellency provided great insights and we share important perspectives.”
While a student at Yale in 2014, Abrar Omeish led the Muslim Student Association’s (MSA) effort to silence ex-Muslim and Islamist critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She claimed that Hirsi Ali “does not have the scholarly credentials to speak on Islam” and demanded that a planned event featuring Hirsi Ali “be limited to subjects she can speak on from her personal experiences.”
