Belgian police union has released a video showing officers in Brussels being attacked by a group of Muslim invaders.
Voice of Europe The officers were attempting to detain a Muslim suspect in a stabbing when a large group of his fellow migrants surrounded them, and then began hitting and kicking them, forcing the police to the ground.
The police union VSOA published a video of the incident on social media and posted this with it: “How should our colleagues do their work in Anderlecht?” the accompanying text read. “What do you think, Pascal Smet and Benjamin Dalle? Should our colleagues have approached [the situation]differently?”
Benjamin Dalle, the Flemish Minister for Youth and Media, was addressed in response to comments he had made last month following the Muslim riots in the Anderlecht neighbourhood of Brussels. Riots broke out and police were assaulted in multiple incidents after a 19-year-old Muslim migrant died in an accident as he was running from police following a routine stop, as previously reported by Voice of Europe. Dalle commented at the time that police need to “understand the situation of these young people.”
Pascal Smet, the Flemish Minister of Education, was addressed by the VSOA because he had also questioned why police hadn’t found “another approach” to the situation other than pursuing the migrant.
Tom Van Grieken, the leader of the Vlaams Belang party, was more frank in his own response. “This is no longer normal!” he wrote in a statement on Facebook. “Brussels 2020: The police want to arrest a suspect. The Muslim migrant bystanders then attack the police to prevent it! INCREDIBLE!”
