“Confused, Elderly Dictator Delivers Rambling Speech Demanding More Money and Power.”
Frontpage Mag – Daniel Greenfield And just as at the Academy Awards this year, the man of the hour turned out to be an elderly man who wasn’t there. Except Anthony Hopkins wasn’t there physically. Joe Biden wasn’t there mentally.
Instead, Americans got something closer to Biden unfiltered, squinting in bafflement, turning his head from side to side like a wind-up doll, and delivering a long tedious series of demands for money, empty promises, and even more hollow talking points.
The demands for money have gone from the billions to the trillions. The promises are even more ridiculous and astronomical. But the figure at the center of it could barely sell ice on a hot summer day to a man dying of thirst.
The only think he could keep claiming credit for was the vaccine that he had nothing to do with. And there it ends.
And predictably, millions of Americans tuned out, Biden’s ratings were half of Trump’s at his first speech to the Joint Session of Congress in 2017.
In unadjusted fast affiliate data, the President’s speech drew around 11.6 million viewers in the 9 PM ET hour. Add, Univision (1.08 million) and Telemundo (884,000) to that batch of ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox and the result inches up to 13.5 million for the speech that started around 9:10 PM ET.
ABC was in first place with 3.5 million viewers in that 9 PM ET hour. CBS was close behind with 3.3 million, followed by NBC’s 3.2 million and Fox’s 1.6 million.
Those aren’t the very final numbers, but it is significantly down from President Trump’s first address whose initial numbers were nearly twice as big as Biden’s. The final numbers for President Trump hit 48 million. That was generally the case through 2020.
Again, the media will massage Biden’s final numbers to deliver a larger rating, but the early numbers show pretty clear that few were interested.
