I thought Muslims only hated dogs? The minute-long clip that circulated via social media shows a Lebanese man named Hassan Hammoud forcing a helpless cat into a microwave oven, then turning it on as his friend Mohammad Jallad films the incident.
LiveLeak From what can be seen in the video, the cat was badly burned but seemed to have survived. “Here is the criminal Hassan Hammoud imprisoning a cat in the microwave and warming it,” laughed Jallad during filming.
The video was posted to Jallad’s facebook account before being removed for violating user policies. Parts of the video were also shown on news outlets across the region, sparking outrage on social media and prompting a discussion on the region’s animal welfare laws. “I dare Lebanon police to arrest Mohammad Jallad and Hassan Hammoud,” said one Twitter user. “Lebanon is raising young criminals, heneeds therapy ASAP,” said another.There is currently no law in place in Lebanon that states such an act is a criminal offense.
“Did you know that serial killers start out by torturing animals?” said Afra Al Dhaheri, founder of Cloud9 Pet Hotel in Abu Dhabiand an advocate of animal rights in the UAE.“Laws against this kind of behaviour need to be enforced. People like him think it’s funny and do these kinds of things for attention. What is happening to the world?” she added.

The only problem I see here is that it might not necessarily be a Muslim doing this, and I’ve heard of other stupid stupid people having done reprehensible things like this. The reason I bring this up is that Muslims say that “Christians” have done a lot of evil things, just on account of where the person is from, without knowing their religious proclivity at all. Also, this doesn’t fit the profile of an act done “in the name of Allah,” or “the prophet.” Sure, many of them are cruel to animals, but animal cruelty happens everywhere, whether they’re Muslims or not. I’ve known several instances of muzzies being cruel to and/or killing cats. Muzz were the prime suspects in the disappearance of pet cats of friends of mine back in the early 1990s. Then there were the muz who buried cats in the ground with the head exposed and mowed over them with a lawn mower.
