Breitbart The hubbub surrounding Irving, Texas 14-year-old MacArthur High School student Ahmed Mohammed – the kid who brought a homemade clock-in-a-case that looked like a fake bomb to school – continues apace, with the President of the United States inviting him to the White House, and 2016 Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg tweeting out encouragement.
There’s only one problem: the whole story smells. It stinks of leftist exploitation.
Here’s what we know. On Monday, Mohammed brought a homemade clock to school. For those who don’t know the ins-and-outs of electronics, the device looked like a possible incendiary device. Ahmed told the media that he made the clock last weekend and brought it to school to show his engineering teacher. He explained to local news, “It was the first time I brought an invention to school to show a teacher.”
He didn’t explain that to police, however, according to the authorities. And he didn’t just show the device to his engineering teacher. In fact, the engineering teacher told him not to carry the device around after Mohammed showed him, according to The New York Times.
Why was the device in English class in the first place, especially after the engineering teacher told him not to show it around? When confronted by police and his English teacher, why didn’t Mohammed just tell them to talk to the engineering teacher? When police asked Ahmed what the device was and why he brought it to school, according to WFAA:
Officers said Ahmed was being “passive aggressive” in his answers to their questions, and didn’t have a “reasonable answer” as to what he was doing with the case. Investigators said the student told them that it was just a clock that he was messing around with. “We attempted to question the juvenile about what it was and he would simply only say it was a clock. He didn’t offer any explanation as to what it was for, why he created this device, why he brought it to school,” said James McLellan, Irving Police.
Here’s the statute Ahmed Mohammed authorities originally suspected Mohammed of violating (Texas Penal Code Section 46.08):
(a) A person commits an offense if the person knowingly manufactures, sells, purchases, transports, or possesses a hoax bomb with intent to use the hoax bomb to:
(1) make another believe that the hoax bomb is an explosive or incendiary device; or
(2) cause alarm or reaction of any type by an official of a public safety agency or volunteer agency organized to deal with emergencies.
(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.
Nobody said Mohammed built an actual bomb. They suspected that he had wanted to frighten or alarm officials with a hoax-bomb. The police said that initially, it was “not immediately evident” that the clock-in-a-case was a class experiment – perfectly plausible, given that Mohammed built the clock-in-a-case voluntarily, without assignment, and in conjunction with no science fair.
Chief Larry Boyd said simply and correctly, “You can’t take things like that to school” without explanation or assignment in today’s world without it receiving scrutiny. And according to the cops, Ahmed was significantly more cooperative with friendly media than with the police who came to ask some simple questions.
Now, let’s look at Ahmed’s father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, a millionaire, social justice activist, and potential tax fraud.
DangerAndPlay Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, has a lengthy history as a troll and publicity hound. But that’s too negative. He is also a sophisticated and intelligent man., who started from the bottom and worked his way up to the top, ultimately selling his taxi cab company for millions of dollars. His success will somehow be used to show how unwelcoming America is to Muslim immigrants.
Yet that’s not all Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed has done. Mr. Elhassan Mohamed is a political activist who also trolls for attention. He has made two unsuccessful runs for the president of the Sudan.
In a Feb. 2015 interview (Irving resident makes his second bid for election as President of Sudan), Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed claimed to be serving as president of the AlSufi Center in Irving Texas. Ahmed’s father, as Pamela Geller points out, is an anti-Islamophobia media gadfly. He routinely returns to Sudan to run for president; he has debated anti-Koran Florida pastor Terry Jones, partially in order to bring his children to Disneyworld. In 2011, the Washington Post wrote of him:
Elhassan, a native of the Sudan who is now an American citizen, likes to call himself a sheik. He wears a cleric’s flowing white robes and claims hundreds of followers throughout Egypt, Sudan and in the United States. But he is unknown as a scholar or holy man in the state he has called home for two decades. Religious leaders in Texas say they have never heard of Elhassan, including the imam at the mosque where he worships.
The New York Daily News reported this Wednesday about Ahmed Mohamed’s father, Mohamed ElHassan Mohamed:
One of the earliest instances of the standout citizen making national news was in 2011, when he sensationally stood up to an anti-Islamic pastor and defended the Koran as its defense attorney. That mock trial at a Florida church ended with the book’s burning, to ElHassan’s claimed shock. In an interview with the Washington Post at the time, the devoted Muslim said he’d take on Rev. Terry Jones’ challenge because the holy book teaches that Muslims should engage in peaceful dialogue with Christians.
It’s no surprise that Ahmed Mohammed’s dad ran to the cameras at the first opportunity. It’s also no surprise that the terror-connected Council on American-Islamic Relations arrived to push the Islamophobia narrative immediately.
And as Ian Tuttle of National Review has pointed out, America has become extra-paranoid of late: students have been suspended for gun-shaped Pop Tarts, cap guns, finger guns, and saying the word gun, among other grave offenses. And we don’t even need weapons to suspend students anymore: wearing an American flag at the wrong time or donning a Confederate flag t-shirt will do it.
So why, after the detention and release, did this story become a national one? Why did Obama jump on this story? Why did Hillary jump on this story? Where were they for then-16-year-old Kiera Wilmot of Florida to the White House after she was arrested and suspended in 2013 for bringing an experiment with toilet cleaner and aluminum foil to school? She was black but not Muslim, so it didn’t serve the narrative. They were MIA.
For years, the Obama administration has pushed the notion that American Muslims are in danger of Islamophobic backlash. But as of 2012, 62.4 percent of all anti-religious hate crimes targeted Jews; 11.6 percent targeted Muslims; as of 2013, anti-Jewish hate crimes represented 60.3 percent of all hate crimes, as opposed to just 13.7 percent for Muslims.
That’s a major decline in anti-Islamic hate crimes since 2001, when 55.7 percent of hate crimes were anti-Jewish, and anti-Muslim hate crimes constituted 27.2 percent of all hate crimes.
So where, exactly, are all the invitations to Jewish students targeted in hate crime incidents?
They don’t exist, because they don’t help President Obama castigate America as xenophobic and backwards – and just as importantly, castigate Texans as particularly likely to don white hoods and go hunt down some Sufis.
Mark Cuban appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher to discuss the story. Cuban confirmed two facts:
- Ahmed was a puppet (his sister was feeding him answers).
- Ahmed showed the “clock” to every teacher until he finally got the desired response.

I base this upon the fact that he took the device to six different teachers. It was reported that neither he nor they said anything, he just marched in and showed the ‘clock’. From what I am reading and seeing in the videos, he refused to engage with the teachers and police, well here in yhe UK at least, if you do not engage with the police and they have suspicion, you will be arrested pending further investigation.
He constructed a device that looked suspicious, he took it into a public school and showed it off, he caused fear and alarm, and then refused to answer questions, as far as I am concerned it was correct to arrest him pending further investigation.

It took a few days, yes, but anybody who has raised even a single kid knows when one of them is lying. I smelled hoax and CAIR “victim” as well. More and more stuff comes out about this little creep. When he was interviewed by the media, they asked him open ended questions about his “ordeal”, and his answers were weak.
If he’d really been verbally abused and taunted, he would have those quotes on the tip of his tongue. Supposedly the other kids were calling him “terrorist” – and a police officer sitting in a chair turned around when Achmed came into the room and said “That’s who I thought it was.” That was it! So much for the abuse he endured.
I was treated far worse whenever the school hall monitor caught me smoking in the bathroom. But no press conferences.

Sorry Mark, but the future seems to be already taken – doesn’t it belong to “those who do not slander the prophet of Islam” ????? I would like to know, can you actually slander someone whose been dead for over 1400 yrs? Can you blaspheme, what isn’t holy or sacred? Couldn’t the school and the parents have taken care of this w/out CAIR getting involved? They’d probably be the 1st ones to sue the school if their kid got a booboo in gym class.
So the next time a Ahmed clone decides to create another clock this time with a bomb, the teachers are supposed to ignore the potential threat and end up with them and other students possibly blown to pieces. As for Ahmeds clock, if he was that smart he would try selling it on Ebay. I bet there’s a lot of rich fools out there willing to pay a nice price for a piece of history. Junk.

BNI, thank you for including the information about hoax bomb threats being illegal in Irving and being the reason that Lil Ahmed was detained and questioned. Maybe I’m a little defensive about it because, although I don’t live there anymore, Irving is my hometown and I’m so tired of teading news stories, blog posts and comments accusing the teachers, school administrators and police of being stupid for thinking that Lil Ahmed had brought a bomb to school. None of them thought it was a bomb. Instead, they all knew that it was a hoax bomb. What yhey didn’t know was the real reason that Lil Ahmed brought it to school, which we’ve all figured out since then: so Lil Ahmed’s daddy and CAIR could get their revenge on the mayor of Irving for taking a strong stand against any forms of Sharia law being enforced in her city.
Auntie, I deliberately sat on this story for a few days, despite getting around 100 emails asking me to cover it. I just knew all the hype meant that something was not “kosher” about it. Glad I waited.
I’m glad you did, too. So many others ran with the initial reports from the mainstream media. Now there’s so much misinformation and disinformation out there, all of it being repeated ad naseum, even by otherwise reliable alternative news sources. I wish they’d all waited. Instead, they’ve repeated so many lies that most will never know the whole truth of this incident.
I visted here a couple of times last week to read your take on this and found it odd that you hadn’t posted about it. I should have known that you were waiting and gathering intel on it first, so that you wouldn’t go off half-cocked, repeating misinformation as so many others have done.
Auntie, truth is when I get about a 100 emails on any one story, I tend not to post it because I know everyone else is. But this story took an interesting twist so I decided to look into it. It always sounded like a CAIR-engineered publicity stunt to me. I’m sure they are more involved than we know…yet.
People shouldn’t stand with Achmed. They should stand him ON his head for a few days. I’m sure this was either directly contrived by CAIR or motivated by the kind of crap CAIR does — like sending a whole group of Muslims in Muslim garb saying things in loud voices and acting strange to deliberately freak the other passengers out.
Then, when the other passengers are COMPLETELY JUSTIFIABLY upset, the Muslims pull the “poor Muslim victim” stuff, and of course the Mainstream-led-by-the-nose-by-Muslim-propagandist media jumps in, and victory signs for another CAIR ploy.
This kid should go to jail along with his family!!!!! And they should whup his butt very severely, but of course won’t, because they believe in total fooling THEIR enemy, too.
Just wish people would understand that THEY consider us THEIR enemy, which makes them very definitely ours.
