Anti-Muslim hate hoaxes are becoming the norm lately, because in most instances, there is no way to prove they ever happened except for the say-so of the alleged Muslim “victim.” A Muslim bodega clerk in upper Manhattan claims he was asked if he is Arabic by a black man. When the clerk answered “yes,” the man allegedly punched him.
Gothamist An Arabic bodega clerk was punched in the face last week, and the police are looking for his attacker. The assault appears to be a hate crime. (Hmmm, I thought blacks can’t be charged with a hate crime, that’s only for whites…unless, of course, the victim is a Muslim, now more a protected class than blacks, I guess)
According to the NYPD, the incident took place around 9:49 a.m. on August 9, when the suspect entered the Green Olive at 161 East 116th Street in Manhattan. The suspect asked the clerk if he was Arabic, and the clerk replied that he was—and then the suspect punched him in the face, police say.
Surveillance footage of the suspect was released. (I don’t know, but somehow in the video, it looks like the black guy was running away in fear from the bodega guy. And the black guy has a Muslim-style beard. What say BNI readers?)
