There are a lot of good points here. However, when looking into Islam we must look at people as individuals and not part of a clique. Of course, it would be fair and respectful to say that many muslims (shia and sunnis) agree on certain parts of doctrine, but overall we have to see that many muslims don’t want to go around beheading people. I’m a christian and have love for them. However, I don’t love what certain muslims do, like harsh retaliations, floggings, stoning people for adultry and beheadings etc
As regards Charlie Hebdo there are two sides to this. Charlie Hebdo not only insulted Islam, but also Christianity, Judaism, hinduism you name it. Charlie Hebdo publication was really an incitment for hatred because it really didn’t care who it offended – – offense was its primary goal, and all in the name of “joking, having a laugh and free speech”.
This brings me to the next point: Do we really have the right to go around insulting someone’s belief? I’ll admit straight out the following; I don’t agree with Islam’s doctrine, but I still love muslims and I DON’T condemn them. If Muhammad was around today, would Jesus call him my neighbour? Of course He would, and it’s for that reason if Muhammad was around today I would say to him that I loved him.
In conclusion, we shoud always love people no matter their background, age, ability/disability, colour of their skin etc. You have a right to disagree, but not to the point of insulting them or their people.
