A spokesman for the Egyptian army announced that Egypt’s “largest military campaign against the terrorists in the Northern Sinai Peninsula” would continue until the whole area is “fully cleansed.”
Eyewitnesses affirmed that the army’s attacks in several areas of the Sinai are continuous, and that more new targets are attacked each and every day.
At the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, where the Egyptian military forcefully displaced local residents last week to create a buffer zone around the border. That’s in addition to more than 800 smuggling tunnels between Egypt and Gaza that the Army has destroyed.

War Colonel Ahmed Ali said that the army has so far targeted 118 terrorist bases, as well as destroyed three weapons caches and 33 vehicles with heavy guns placed on them.
In a statement, Ali claimed that the terrorists traded fire with army forces using their heavy weapons. He said that nine terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire and nine others were detained.

The army recently began a comprehensive military campaign using heavy military equipment and Apache Helicopters for the first time in Sinai since the peace accords with Israel were signed in late 1970s.
Sinai residents confirmed to MEMO that by the start of the military operation, the Egyptian army had deactivated all communication facilities, including telephones, mobile phones and the internet. The army justified these actions by saying that shutting down communications allows their forces “strict control” over the terrorists.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Israeli officials saying that the Egyptian military operation in Sinai is in both Israel’s and Egypt’s interests. While the officials affirmed that Israel did not interfere in the operation, Israelis were relaxed with it.
Since the beginning of the operation, the Egyptian army has made daily announcements about the deaths and detention of terrorists, but never provides any names or other details about what it claims.

Go Egypt. Go Israel.
Keep working on lowering those Hamas employee numbers.
Maybe the year long Morsi experience in Egypt is the beginning of the end of religious fanaticism being tolerated in the ME?
Agrees with linda The Egyptian military are wonderful! They are making the world a safer place for innocents! With much gratitude, thank you so much, Egyptian military! and heres a thank you Egypt from Moi (me) eh
I wouldn’t trust the Egyptians. The last three times Egypt massed military forces on Israel’s southern border it was a prelude to an invasion — especially in ’73’.
AD, but this time the Israelis are fighting alongside the Egyptians in Sinai. But shhhh, don’t tell anyone, the Arab world couldn’t deal with this kind of news. The IDF has trained many of the Egyptian soldiers.
So Israel is now putting their faith in F’ING scuzzlums? Hell’s Bells the last Jewish tribe who inhabited Medina put their faith in muhamMAD himself and we see where that got them. Training Egyptian soldiers, who are all muslime, is insane.
AD, it is in Israel’s interest to wipe out the terrorists from Sinai. Israel never had a problem with Egypt under Mubarak.
I understand the common mistrust, BUT, you have to also understand that those in the middle east work on a “different plane”…their view is “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
This is something Egypt and Israel know well and Egypt, now far too busy busting up the MB, doesn’t have the resources or the need to attack or further endanger their relationship with Israel. They, like the rest of this planet, HAVE a common enemy that mandates destruction. (IMO)
I’ve only seen Egypt from 30,000 feet enroute to Iraq and other places. I have to say I am beginning to truly admire the Egyptian Army. Keep up the good work.
Do you think our leaders will learn anything from this military operation? Has anyone asked if the Egyptian Army is using rules of engagement? Your now telling me that they are fighting fire with fire( GREAT.) If so all bets are on the Egyptian Army.
FYI I would never want to back the Israeli’s into a corner, because believe me they will never allow another Holocaust. I like to think that Sisi knows this better than most muslims.
Another important point concerning the Egyptians is TOURISM. Without tourism the battle for the economy will be totally up hill. I can see it now, the Israeli’s telling the world it is safe to visit Israel and Egypt. I know it will be sooner than later the way things are going in the middle east.
Thank you very much for your compliment Linda, we seriously need the country to be back on track , we have been suffering for a long long long time, and we faced many discrimination and prejudice in many governmental offices/ agencies .
I hope that the Egyptian Army will not be religious one like that Iranian and Saudi ones …
The Egyptian military are wonderful! They are making the world a safer place for innocents! With much gratitude, thank you so much, Egyptian military!
In a future time and a future year, God is going to do amazing and astonishing things in Egypt as prophesied by our Glorious, Awesome Magnificent Creator:
Bible, Isaiah 19:24 In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
God, our Precious HERO forever, does awesome things that ONLY He can do.
Great stuff!!!
This is REALLY good to see!
That’s 32 down, and many more to go. Got to admire Gen. Sisi and the people’s army for their courage to aggressively eradicate the vile vermin that understands only destruction and murder.
I would like nothing more than to see Egyptian and Israeli forces fighting side by side.
Go Egypt!
Had, you’ll never see it, but they are, in Sinai. The IDF has trained many in the Egyptian Army, though they had to be sneaked in under alias passports.
Oh, I’m sure they are. I just wish someone, in the MSM, would have the brass to announce it. I’m tired of the secrecy.
We have to deal with such sensitive cases in secrecy , because the arab world , middle east, arabs are not ready yet, to deal with others who have different beliefs like Jewish folks and Isreal and accept their presence among in the MENA ….
Arabs are the worst , when it comes to dealing with societal and religious diversity …
Nice to see Israel and Egypt getting along so well.
Is there any way to send Obama in the Sinai?
waaaaaaay to go Egypt
