FEDERAL LAW IS VERY CLEAR: Dogs are recognized as service animals and all businesses open to the public, including restaurants, must allow them in. But a U.S. Army veteran, Richard Hunter, says a Subway restaurant in Paterson, New Jersey owned by Muslims who are notorious dog haters, blatantly ignored the law, and kicked him out because of the dog.
ABC News (h/t Grant B) The sign on the door seemingly said it all: “Service animals are welcome,” but Hunter claims the Muslim manager, later identified as Mitul Ahmed, a Muslim, said something very different. “I may have been holding the door when he first said something. He said, ‘The dog is not allowed in here. Get the dog out of here,'” Hunter said.
“He was clearly identified as a service animal,” Eyewitness News Investigative Reporter Sarah Wallace said. “He was wearing what he has on right now,” Hunter said. “I said he was a service animal.” “He didn’t care,” Wallace said. “That’s exactly what he said, ‘I don’t care,'” Hunter said. Hunter called the cops who said they couldn’t do anything. He then called the owner. “The owner told me straight up: ‘I can refuse service to anyone I want,'” Hunter said.
Today I a Muslim man along with his family called the cops on me for walking my dog in the park. This completely Unacceptable and Wrong. I was not doing anything wrong and neither was my dog.

Which subway was this? Does anyone know the exact location so we can complain to the franchise? I am willing to send an email detailing my disgust at this veterans treatment for having a service dog. If enough people complain, perhaps this location can be closed. I also think the owner of the location needs SENSITIVITY TRAINING.
Reply to Dawn, regarding Subway location, all I known is that it’s the Subway Store is in Patterson New Jersey. God bless you Dawn for wanting to take the bull by the horns on this one. We need more people like you, I’m in Los Angeles, I’m not sure in regards to the address, but this is the best I could do; but please confirm Subway location: 675 River St, Patterson New Jersey. Now in regards to the Muslim Subway store owner, I agree that he should be closed down, I also think a boycott is deserving of despicable actions on our Veteran and his dog. To say the lease!!! I emailed Subway Corp main offices and inquired about this incident. I also asked about the location not serving bacon and ham. I did receive a reply. I was told thank you for bringing this to their attention (I can’t believe no one else contacted them). The Corporate office was going to “reach out” to the franchise owner and go over the law regarding service animals with the owner so that he can pass that information on to the employees. The Corporate office DID NOT respond to my questions about the halal food, etc. I replied to the email I received and requested a reply to my original email inquiring about not serving ham and bacon. Will I receive another reply? I was actually surprised that my first email was answered. There should be no question about which location was involved as I used Mr. Ahmed’s name in the email. Now it’s wait and see.

Sounds like Subway headquarters should be notified. Their frianchise can be revoked if proven they did this and should have to answer to headquarters for this. It works because I have done this and you can’t believe the effect it has on the franchised bussiness that creats these kind of problems. Franchise bussinesses pay a lot of money to have them and they can lose all of that money and their business.
Also a little call to Subway head office will also get some shit going for little Mitul Ahmed if mentioned by name and location.

I prefer Vietnamese pork bread roll (yummy!!)…. better than Subway. Haven’t been to Subway for many years!!!! Very dull food.

I heard a similar story, in this case that person was killed because he had been a soldier that fought muslims in Iraque and I believe that is the real reason why he was refused… look at his body build and his hat and his pants.. it’s likely that he “could” be an army veteran so that is prolly the REAL reason why he was refused entry.
