If Maher can open a crack in the shell of the left regarding Islam, good for him. I’m with Bonnie on this, that’s all I care about. I don’t care if he’s an atheist, a Seven Day Adventurist or a Ventriloquist. I’ve just been reading a lot of your squabbling comments about left/right, Christian/ any other religion, views religious/atheist views . As someone else above said, let’s not get divided because of Islam, when we need to be united more than ever. Most conservatives bash the entire left when criticizing principles of cultural relativism, Islam apologia, etc. But what would you think if lefties start bashing entire right (including christian conservatives) for Islam and muslims? Islam is a far-right ideology, that’s undeniable.
But I and many others are sensible enough to realize that christian conservatives have little to nothing in common with muslim actions.
Generalized bashing only polarizes people further and reinforces many liberals’ belief that only right-wing christian loonies talk about Islam, and are paranoid, and they dismiss a very serious threat.

Some are more active in their stances than others, but the questioning, critiquing and challenging is growing. Private disgust is becoming public anger. Public anger is becoming more involvement against Izslime.

While I am very conservative in nature I agree with everything Bill said except the bit about the republican war on women comment.
But I feel even most liberals would agree with Bill on the issue of Islam. The only ones who speak out against him and coddle these Mooslims are the politicians who need the Mooslim votes and the media because you aren’t supposed to have opinions anymore if you are a journalist.

You must not read very much on the sites like Yahoo and MSN. Liberal insanity is still rampant there on Islam articles, although less than it used to be. And, there are many others. Read comments on Huff Po. Believe me, delusional liberalism about Islam is still out there by the ship loads.
