Religious believers often refuse to understand that atheists are not trying to kill the “good” in their faiths, but protesting against the evil caused by sacrificing reason to mysticism. That’s not ever likely to change. But all the other atheists I consider friends are NOT Leftists/”Progressives” and loathe Islam on principle.
CAIR probably won’t pay any attention. Even Maher isn’t as prominent a public figure as Carson, and most people probably never heard of Dawkins. But Carson isn’t likely to back down either, so they may eventually stop baying up that tree and look for easier pickings elsewhere.

This is a bit off topic but relates to the anti-ISIS operations currently being conducted by Russia in Syria.
Throughout the day Sky news along with CNN and the BBC keep quoting the ‘Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’ when stating numbers of ‘civilians’ killed in pro-Assad airstrikes in Syria.
Russia Today broadcast a piece yesterday where they exposed the SOHR as a one-man-band operated by an immigrant living in a house in Coventry, England!

Russia is clearing up the West’s mistakes in Syria and also destroying the so-called ‘moderate’ rebels backed by the US, UK and France – as well as many Middle Eastern countries. These of course include elements of the Islamic Army of Conquest, Al-Qaeda and Al-Nusra – hardly peaceful ‘rebels’…
