The animals are considered ‘filth’ as asserted by the attacker, a Somali Muslim migrant. According to the prophet Muhammad, dogs should be killed unless they are working/service dogs.

Dogs can sense bad people, in stories of angels and ghosts of family members the dogs react in a positive way. How many stories of someone being attacked or a kid about to be raped or abducted where a dog, sometimes not even a family pet just a random dog, will save the victim from the “monster’ trying to hurt them. A recent example was a stray Pit bull saving a woman from being stabbed by some nut job and getting cut up itself, it did not know the woman, it still threw itself between them and attacked the man.

I have a black lab…a wonderful old puppins…and the muslim’s hate BLACK dogs especially…
We were visiting an old friend in an apartment building in Brampton, {Toronto, Canada}, and the building, sadly, had an influx of the muslim scourge…and upon leaving, there were 6 or 8 old head bagged women hanging around the entrance, generally brattling their gibberish and stinking up the place…but I’m certain at least a few understood English.

In my comment above I wrote that if those dogs were different breeds known for protecting owners and have a very strong prey instinct, it would be the muzzslime who would have been “deactivated”. Usually breeds closely to their wolf ancestors are some of the best in this regard. BTW, believe or not I found there is now available a DNA kit for dogs that will trace a pet’s origins, just as for humans.
