Bexar County Sheriff officials in southern Texas announced Friday that a 16-year-old girl who had had been missing since January 30th has been found alive, and her parents have now been arrested after the real reason the girl ran away was made known. Maarib Al Hishmawi, 16, is now in Child Protective Services custody along with her five siblings, between the ages of 5 and 15.
KSAT The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is sharing new, horrifying details in the arrest of a 16-year-old girl’s parents in connection with her disappearance. The teenager has since been found alive.
Authorities said Maarib Al Hishmawi‘s parents — Abdulah Fahmi Al Hishmawi, 34, and Hamdiyah Sabah Al Hishmawi, 33 — attempted to force her into an arranged marriage and subjected her to physical abuse when she refused. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the girl’s family had arranged for her to marry a man in another city and that a sum of $20,000 would be exchanged.

Growing up I was taught to think, which meant eventually I had different opinions fro my parents, whilst we agreed to disagree,They were still my parents,as I got older they also became my friends. And I helped to nurse my mum when very ill until her death,my dad is now very old,I still help where I can. And we still have different opinions.
My brothers and sisters also my self, each chose who they wanted to marry, each made their own choice.possibly not the choice of my parents, but they always supported each one in their choice.
