Following Congressmuslim Ilhan Omar victory as ‘Anti-Semite of the Year 2020,’ this year’s winner is a Ben & Jerry’s director

ANURADHA MITTAL, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream board of directors head, the driving force behind Ben & Jerry’s decision to stop selling their ice cream to over 800,000 Jews who live in 140 communities in various parts of Israel. The ice cream brand’s decision to stop selling its products in Judea & Samaria and parts of Jerusalem is driven by an individual with deep animosity for the Jewish state.

StopAntisemitism – Anuradha Mittal is the driving force behind Ben & Jerry’s decision to boycott over 800,000 Jews who live in 140 communities in various parts of Israel. Mittal serves as head of Ben & Jerry’s Board of Directors and Vice President of Ben & Jerry’s Foundation Inc. and has a long history of supporting antisemitic causes and pushing narratives vilifying the Jewish nation.

In addition to her role at Ben & Jerry’s, Mittal is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Oakland Institute, a policy think tank with a strong anti-Israel stance. In 2017, Mittal co-authored a series of 9 reports by the Oakland Institute called “Palestine for Land & Life.” The reports falsely accused Israel of apartheid, colonialism, and land grabbing.

Mittal also uses her role at the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation to funnel money through the Oakland Institute to fund antisemitic projects such as Badil, a Palestinian group with ties to terror and a history of vile Jew-hatred that includes publishing Nazi-era cartoons.

Mittal twitter’s account which has more than 100 anti-Israel tweets has one specifically describing the creation of the Jewish nation as a “catastrophe.”

She also often posts in support of the antisemitic Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement on her personal Twitter account. She also has called for the U.S. government to end aid to Israel and has supported Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s obscene antisemitic statements.

Most telling of the depth of her hatred, are Mittal’s tweets which revealed that she wanted Ben & Jerry’s to boycott the entire State of Israel and not just the “occupied Palestinian territories” but Unilever, the parent of Ben & Jerry’s, opposed such move.

Earlier this year, Mittal spearheaded the effort by Ben & Jerry’s to stop the sale of its ice cream to 800,000 Jews living throughout various parts of Israel. This decision was clearly not made for the sake of the Palestinian people who are now also unable to purchase a pint from the Vermont ice cream maker.

This is a blatantly antisemitic boycott. In response, multiple U.S. states have announced that, according to their anti-BDS laws, they are divesting their pension and public funds holdings from parent company Unilever, with several more expected to follow. Unilever’s stock price has dropped significantly as well, dealing a harsh blow to its capital and further proving that Anuradha Mittal and Ben & Jerry’s board’s antisemitism has far reaching consequences beyond those that spout it.

Mittal’s history with antisemitism is long and upsetting. Under Mittal’s leadership in 2018, Ben & Jerry’s made the controversial decision to partner with notorious anitsemite Linda Sarsour, an American-Palestinian activist who was booted from the Women’s March for promoting hatred towards the Jewish people and nation.

Another portion of the grant money was used to finance the Badil Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights. Last year, the European Union pulled nearly $2 million worth of funding from Badil after it refused to sign an “anti-terror” clause in its funding contract. The clause stated that none of the EU’s funds would be diverted to members of terrorist organizations, such as the military wings of Hamas and Hezbollah.
