Red State In yet another troubling consequence of the unconscionable Biden Afghanistan Debacle™, the Biden administration without warning this month told Loudoun County, Virginia, officials that the Department of Homeland Security plans to “process” 16,000 Afghan refugees at a convention center right next to a Loudoun County high school and middle school.
Without any prior warning, Loudoun County officials were told that 2,000 Afghans would be arriving in the county in just over two weeks and that 2,000 more would be arriving every month after that through September. In what will come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention for the last thirteen months, Chapman and other Loudoun County officials found the Biden team to be disingenuous, uncooperative, poorly prepared, and worse.

Let’s not forget that in Oct. 2021, a Congressional delegation in Qatar led by Rep. Darell Issa (R-Calif.) was told that fully 12,000 of the Afghans who had come to Camp As Sayliyah and then went on to the U.S. had no identification at all. Issa stated: “They came with nothing. No Afghan I.D., no I.D. of any sorts. Those people were all forwarded on to the U.S., and that’s quite an admission. So many people had no I.D. whatsoever and yet find themselves in the United States today based on what they said.”
So many of its actions make abundantly clear that the Biden administration simply doesn’t care about the well-being of American citizens. What is happening in Loudoun County is happening all over the country, with no regard for the possibility that there could be criminals and terrorists among the Afghan refugees, despite the fact that some have already been arrested. This will play out the way Leftist utopianism always does: the elites will feel good about themselves while ordinary people will have to pay the price.
As reported by the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard, Sheriff Michael Chapman said in a statement on Thursday that DHS officials from the department’s Federal Protective Service said that up to 2,000 at a time would be temporarily housed at the National Conference Center in the ritzy Lansdowne area east of Leesburg.
The Sheriff’s Office added, per The Washington Examiner:
On February 4, 2022, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office received an unannounced visit by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service in which it learned that approximately 2,000 Afghans, per month, were slated to arrive at the Washington Dulles International Airport during a window beginning as early as February 19, 2022, and extending to September 2022.
DHS/FPS regional personnel advised the refugees would be transported by bus to the National Conference Center where they would stay until their ultimate relocation elsewhere in the United States. (In other words, just like Biden continues to ship illegal aliens — without alerting state or local officials — across the country in the dead of night)
Chapman also wrote that “DHS/FPS advised that the Afghans will be provided with cash and cell phones and be required to remain on the NCC grounds.” “Required to remain on the NCC grounds.” Sounds good on paper. Just one question: How many (if any) of the 16,000 will have been thoroughly vetted before being dumped next door to two schools, let alone dispersed across the country?
It comes on the heels of a similar settlement parade through the Dulles Expo Center and other facilities in the Northern Virginia area, during which there were reports of the Afghan invaders simply disappearing. To that end, Chapman said the DHS lacked key details, and several of his questions were (“shockingly”) not answered by top Biden officials, especially those on security and communications with locals. (Again, just like the shipments of illegals.)
In addition, noted the Examiner, while the public has welcomed former Afghan officials, notably translators, who helped the U.S. throughout the War on Terror, locals have “raised significant security concerns about language barriers and background checks.”
In a release, Chapman expressed concern over the administration’s lack of transparency about dumping the refugees, most of whom do not speak English, in a highly populated area that includes two schools. “He raised concerns about DHS’ lack of communication, lack of planning, language barriers, a failure to communicate with a myriad of potential stakeholders, and the NCC’s unfenced proximity to a residential neighborhood and two public schools,” said the sheriff’s department.
Asked about keeping areas around two schools secure, DHS said that “the FPS would provide 15 officers for security at the NCC. However, the FPS has no law enforcement jurisdiction in Loudoun County and cannot enforce nor investigate any criminal activity on the campus.”
In other words, it appears that DHS was sketchy at best in the vetting — or lack thereof — of family members of translators and former Afghan officials. What could possibly go wrong?
DHS also admitted it had told nobody in the community about the plan and had not reached out to any support group, including churches. And when asked about receiving federal financing for its expenses, DHS said that grants would be available, but only after all 16,000 are placed somewhere else.

Last month, an Afghan refugee was convicted of sexually abusing a three-year old girl at Quantico Marine Corps Base. Mohammed Tariq, 24, had worked “alongside US troops” in Afghanistan, US News reported. The outlet said he told authorities the conduct was acceptable in his culture.
In New Mexico, a group of Afghan refugees allegedly assaulted a female military service member.
CBS reported that “several” Afghan women and girls said they were forced into marriage, including as “child brides,” so that they could come to the US as spouses of Afghan men.
The governor of Montana called for the Biden administration to stop settling Afghan migrants in the state until vetting concerns were addressed after an evacuee was charged with a rape of a woman in the state.
On my neighborhood app, some whiney liberal was begging for stuff for “refugees”, which she said were for Afghans & some Sudanese. She said they were “vetted”, which we know isn’t true. I mentioned that they are in desperate need of translators for these “translators”. She expressed how she was “in tears” over the “cruel comments” as she begs for baby equipment such as strollers, which I doubt these Afghans have ever seen before, much less used.
