Unbelievable story of a rescue horse who was nearly starved to death by his owner. I’ve seen a lot of rescue horses, but none in such bad shape as this one, who still had the heart to try to live.
Here’s a video my friend took of my horse Louie in his stall. Louie is the horse I rescued, and who rescued me back, after my old horse died at age 26. His face looks a lot like the horse in the above story.

Thanks, AZ. I fell off Louie yesterday at a jump. It was my fault though. Thankfully, I didn’t break anything, the ground is really hard now.

I am, but if you ride and jump, eventually you are going to hit the ground…which I do 2 or 3 times a year. However, I do wear a safety vest for jumping as I broke my back in a bad fall several years ago.
I have rescued my share of kittens, cats, puppies, and loveable old dogs. What a fantastic turnaround for that horse!! My eyes were tearing up something awful after watching that. Thanks Bonni for the video. Humans are a nasty, dirty, greedy lot with no redeemable charateristics. Animals, thats where true unconditional love resides.

I am with you on that one. I have more love for animals because they are honest and can be so loving than I do for humans. Dogs and horses are on the top of the list. I am so happy that horse got rescued just in time.
Dehydration is what started its emaciation process because it is very difficult to eat if you are dehydrated. It is just plain heartbreaking to see him on the ground, resigned to die and alone.

What joy to see the horrifically neglected, starved, abused horse heal and experience happiness in life! And to see the strong will of the precious horse to survive!

Well, he was not anywhere near as bad as this horse was. He just needed a good home.
Louie is very lucky to have you but he will give back tenfold no strings attached the world needs more CARROT people or LADIES .I cannot think of a punishment harsh enough for those who mistreat animals.
Me too, if I had the money I would use it to build an animal rescue farm. That’s where most of my charitable contributions go.

Louie may have had a hell of a time getting there but plain to see he found his Horse Heaven the circumstances on who rescued whom is wisely left unsaid by both party’s , myself is happy to know they are both here in this world and not make believe
They shoot horses that are in bad shape. There should be a worse punishment for someone whose purposful actions LED to the animal getting that way.
