This is a lawsuit that I hope is fought and won in the courts. Anybody can claim any religion and make any demands. (I’ve heard of an Arizona prison that serves sandwiches, period.) No pork is an easy fix and can be accommodated. Serving on disposable plates can probably be accommodated. Therefore, when the meal is served and when it is eaten is up to the prisoner–They made the vow to fast and it is their job to keep it. It is not the job of the prison system to assure the fast is kept by withholding food until it is OK to be eaten.
