Asra Jabas wants the Israeli government to pay for her cosmetic surgery related to face and hand injuries she sustained when she blew up a car bomb near Jerusalem in 2015 in an attempt to kill Israeli police officers, while yelling “Allahu Akbar.”
Asra Jabas, of Jabel Mukaber in Jerusalem, detonated a car bomb in 2015 in an attempted suicide attack on one of the main routes leading to Jerusalem.
Sergeant Major Moshe Hen (photo below), a senior Israel Police officer, 45, described driving home to Jerusalem from a shift at work and noticing the woman’s car behind him, mainly because she was in the lane reserved for public transportation, security vehicles and cars with three or more passengers. She aroused his suspicion, however, when she began tailgating him at a fast pace. It was then that he stopped and went to her window.
When the officer asked the her to step out of the car, she exited the vehicle, shouting “Allahu Akbar” and pressed the trigger, exploding a gas balloon in the car she was driving.
“Luckily, I [had on] a bullet-proof vest,” he said. “I told her she was in violation of the traffic laws. And then she shouted, ‘Allahu akbar!’ – and smoke began to billow out of her car. I thought something was burning, so I went to get a fire extinguisher. Suddenly there was an explosion, and I realized she was a terrorist.”
With burns covering his face and body, Hen had managed to phone for medical help and back-up. The car contained other explosive charges that did not explode, and therefore a much more deadly attack was averted.

Jabas was indicted on attempted murder charges, leading to an 11-year sentence. Seven years later, it appears that Jabas believes Israel should pay for cosmetic surgery she says she needs due to injuries sustained in the attack she launched. While two similar requests have been rejected, Israel Prison Services has made sure she received multiple essential medical treatments at the state’s expense.
“I have [post-traumatic] stress and it is very difficult and significant for me,” Officer Hen recently told Channel 12. “There were another four full buses there and the fire reached a height of four stories.” “If I hadn’t been there, everyone would’ve been burned. I received an honor for it, for the bravery, but I don’t feel that I did anything at all. Now this terrorist wants to [receive] an operation?” he added.
Israel Prisons Service stands “behind its refusal to fund a cosmetic treatment for the prisoner,” Arutz Sheva reported.
The only help I would give her is funding towards a visit to a local tattoo shop for some much needed pork related ink such as this …
