My great mom is a proud member of the DAR, related to Alexander Hamilton. All of us are combat vets, my uncle lived his life with PTSD after serving as corpsman first waves of Tinian, Saipan, and Iwo Jima, and I served as Tactical Action Officer during the last US naval sea battle, Operation Praying Mantis, 18 April 1988 under our great leader, Ronald Reagan. We destroyed the Iranian navy that day, done in time for lunch. 🙂
When asked during a visit in front of the Berlin wall in 1986 whether he believes the iron curtain would come down he said yes.
Back then I thought nice political stunt but little did I know that less than 4 years later it would really come true.

I was surprised at the end of his speech to hear the words of Greenwalds song “God bless the USA”. Reagan was a great speaker.
