Ultra-Orthodox Jews take to the streets in Jerusalem to protest against the mandatory military draft. The think they are entitled to sit around all day and sturdy Torah while all the other Jews in Israel, BOTH men and women, serve in the military to defend their lazy asses.
This sect of extreme ultra-orthodox Jews are just like the fundamentalist Muslims, except they don’t run around killing people.
Times of Israel Shouting ‘We will die and not be drafted,’ demonstrators from extremist ultra-Orthodox sect bar vehicles from accessing capital’s main entrance, intersection near bus station. Hundreds of ultra-Orthodox men blocked two major intersections near the entrance to Jerusalem on Thursday, in protest of the arrest of a Haredi draft-refuser who had tried to leave the country.
The protesters, members of the extremist Friedman faction, first gathered at the intersection of Sarei Yisrael and Nordau streets, where they blocked the city’s light rail and caused heavy delays around the capital’s central bus and train stations. Demonstrators then walked to the nearby Chords Bridge, where they lay on the road and blocked traffic in and out of the main entrance to the city for approximately an hour, Israel Police said.
Police attempted to disperse protestors with water cannons, and some were seen dragging protesters lying in the intersection away from there. A member of the sect tried to leave the country early last week in advance of Rosh Hashanah, but was imprisoned for draft refusal.
Members of the faction, which is considered extreme even among the ultra-Orthodox in Jerusalem, were heard chanting, “We will die and not be drafted,” as well as, “I will not join the army of destruction,” the Ynet news site reported.
Military service is mandatory for most Jewish Israeli men, but the ultra-Orthodox often receive exemptions in order to continue their religious studies. Some of the most extremist Haredim refuse to even apply for such an exemption, often leading to such arrests.
The exemptions have long infuriated secular Israelis, but ultra-Orthodox communities have resisted repeated attempts to force them to register for the draft.
Well, at least they breed. Better than the Muslums there that overbreed.

ultra -orthodox and haredi jews don’t follow torah laws they worship rabbis(dead and alive) and follow there man made rabbinic laws many of which contradict the torah. the men only spend all day study rabbinic writings while the women work to support them. their religion is not Judaism it s rabbi worship. the rabbis are gods to the haredi/ultra orthodox. their way of dress are of eastern european origin.
TBM, I’ve never heard it explained that way. I have no use for these ultra orthodox sects, because one of them told me that they don’t consider Jews like me to be Jewish. Even worse, there’s always a group of these religious fanatics marching in lockstep with Muslims whenever there is a demonstration against Israel in the West. I’d like to know why so many of them continue to live in Israel considering that the Messiah shows no sign of showing up anytime soon.

they worship Talmud, they learn the Old Testament when they are 3 years old, and after that they learn Talmud and call it “Torah” as if Moses gave it, even though it contradicts the Old Testament, Islam is also based on rabbinic exegesis like Talmud
Only the most radical Jewish fanatics believe in that stuff and thank God, they are a tiny minority.
Those ultras would be the first to be hunted down and slaughtered by the Muslims if they ever gain the upper hand. Draft dodgers are using this as an out just like the American draft dodgers during the Vietnam war ran to Canada as an out.
They are not the only people like this. Think of those who feel (for whatever reason) that they should not have to work but they should be entitled to a home, food, clothing, fun stuff, their drug of choice, etc. and you should, the working person be responsible for providing for their comfort. Then there are those who are of the opinion that only their rights to freedom of speech, religion, etc. are important but because you don’t agree with them, your freedoms should be denied. There is nothing i dislike more than a lazy person and that’s what all these bums are!
I have the greatest respect for the Jewish people their bravery their endless search for peace their united bond as one people and yet I do not see why these ultra-orthodox Jews can not understand the importance of defending their own , what is in that Torah that drives them to ex stream isolation from their own kind and hide behind it as reason not to pick up that sword to save themselves , seems they seek a lifetime of dis honor and cowardliness to get no where

If the Ultra-Orthodox Jews only focus on studying the Torah, they would’ve missed the meaning of those verses. Apparently, they are much like our own American conscientious objectors, they let others sacrifice themselves to protect their pitiful asses.
Me, I misspoke, they focus on Talmud, which was a bunch of Jews trying to reinterpret Torah with their own radical ideas.
