Video footage posted online this week showed schoolgirls making the ‘middle finger’ gesture and turning around portraits of Iran’s leaders to face the wall in classrooms. As with older women in Iran, the girls have also refused to wear hijabs (headscarves) in some schools, protesting rules enforced by the regime’s so-called ‘morality’ police.
Footage has also emerged of a group of schoolchildren in the city of Karaj near Tehran chasing an education official off the premises as they hurled empty water bottles at him and chanted “shame on you.” It came as the BBC reported that Iranian security forces secretly buried the body of a 16-year-old protester far from her village after she disappeared for ten days. In a last message to her friends, Nika Shakarami had said she was being pursued by security forces.
Why isn’t Joe Biden supporting these brave girls and women in Iran instead of trying to make a disastrous (for the world) nuclear deal with the Iranian dictators?

It is utterly hilarious. Liberated women of the western world can’t seem to wait to don the hijab, jilbab, khimar, and abaya or even a flat out burqa, but Iranian women in an Islamic dictatorship risk life and limb or at least severe floggings and imprisonment to remove the hijab and quite literally let their hair down. How ironic is that? And even odder than that, there doesn’t seem to be much support from Western feminists for the Iranian women. The Iranian women are the TRUE feminists.
