AUSTRALIA: ‘Dumping ground outrage’ as Western Sydney residents question why ISIS (Islamic State terror group) brides and their little ‘terrorists-in-training’ are being moved into their suburb
Western Sydney residents say they’ve become the ‘dumping ground’ for the prime minister after the first group of ISIS brides and their 13 children were ‘removed’ from a Syrian refugee camp and resettled in the west of the city – as questions are raised as to why the families aren’t being welcomed in Victoria as a state election looms.
Daily Mail (h/t Nita) Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone, Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun, and Campbelltown Mayor George Greiss, all regions that recently welcomed the former Islamic State families, hit back at the federal government’s decision to put them in their electorates.
Four women, all of whom were married to Islamic State fighters before they were killed in the war, and their 13 children touched down in Sydney on October 29 after being rescued from the al-Roj refugee camp in Syria.
Appearing on Sunrise on Wednesday morning, the western Sydney mayors said their enraged communities refused to be a ‘dumping ground’ for people who had ‘turned their back on their own country’. Mr Carbone and Mr Mannoun told host Natalie Barr they had signed a joint letter asking Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to meet with them to discuss the resettlement of the newest arrivals to their LGAs.
‘The repatriated women and children should not be resettled in south west Sydney, due to the high level of anxiety and concerns from the communities that have fled Islamic State brutality,’ the letter read in part. ‘Your government has listened to the repatriated families’ views, but have not taken the time to consult with the communities affected by this decision.’
Mr Carbone said communities had told their mayors ‘loud and clear’ how they felt about the wives and children of Islamic State fighters moving in next-door. ‘We have a very harmonious community here in western Sydney, people from all over the world, but it’s important that we get people that want to come back to us and be a part of us, rather than fight against us,’ he said.
Mr Mannoun said the government did not approach any of the councils to flag plans involving the repatriation of ISIS families. ‘There’s a lot of anxiety in the community, people are very concerned about this, and if you don’t talk to us how will we work together and do our job,’ he said.
It comes as questions are being asked as to why the families of ISIS fighters have yet to be re-settled in Victoria, with critics accusing Dan Andrews’ government of delaying their move until after the state election on November 26th. Mr Andrews last week dismissed these claims as ‘absolute nonsense’. I’m not here as a spokesperson on behalf of the Home Affairs department,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Independent MP Dai Le, said her constituents in Fowler, in Sydney’s Inner West, felt ‘betrayed’ by the arrival of four ISIS brides and their 13 children. ‘They have suffered trauma as a result of ISIS’ brutal regime and were settled in Australia with the hopes of peace and security,’ she told AAP.
‘Our community feels betrayed that this repatriation occurred without consultation or consideration as to how it would impact on their wellbeing.’
Ms Le supported a letter from community leaders to Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil asking for a forum to discuss the repatriation program. A spokesperson for the minister said she was considering the request.
In October, the Albanese government confirmed its rescue plan to bring home 16 women and 42 children who are families of IS members from the camp. The first people removed were assessed as the most vulnerable of those being held.
The federal government worked with Kurdish authorities on the extraction, which reportedly included DNA testing to prove the individuals were Australian citizens. (Only if they claim to have native Australian citizens as family members)
Australian intelligence agencies believe that leaving Australians in squalid camps may present more of a threat to national security than bringing them back, as their plight could be used to recruit more Australian Muslims to join terror organisations. It is understood all of those brought home will be subject to intensive monitoring by security agencies and some will face terror charges as it was illegal for many at the time to travel to Syria and Iraq.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton warned the extractions were not in the national interest, claiming the rescues could inflame the risk of terrorism in Australia.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the safety of Australians was always paramount and the government would continue to act on national security advice. ‘We will always act in a way that keeps Australians safe,’ he said. (Obviously, that is a lie)
Rat faced jihadists will be sure to cause trouble in the future. They should live their lives in Islamoland. Too bad they didn’t die in the camps, which I guess the government was hoping.
I think the government planned on sending these girls & their children into the world, to pervert Western neighborhoods & families. One day these kids will grow up, they’ll hate the non-Muslims, or seduce them, or who knows. What sort of women purposely goes out of their way to live with psychopath terrorists?

Can’t Australia just have them dumped in some nearby Islamic countries such as Brunei, Indonesia, or Malaysia?
