Three (Muslim?) men have been arrested by police after a Volkswagen Golf drove down the pedestrian area of a town centre busy with families and children enjoying festivities at the Congleton Christmas market. Name of the driver and car occupants have not yet been released (more than 48 hours after story broke).

Birmingham Mail Emergency services have been called to a Christmas Market this evening amid reports a car has ‘driven into the crowd’. Eye witnesses say there were around 800 people – including families with small children – enjoying the festivities at Congleton Christmas Market when a car ‘doing at least 50mph ploughed into the crowd’.
Steve Brown, owner of Steve Brown Antiques in the High Street, said he was just closing his shop when he heard tyres screeching and people screaming.
Steve, 58, said: “It was absolutely horrendous. A car has come screeching down the High Street – which is full of stalls and people. There are hundreds of people here, people with kids and dogs and lots of traders. He said the police have arrived on the scene, but that he and others “don’t really know what’s happening yet”.
Another business owner said that his staff had “heard something”. He described the sound as: “Like a skidding, screeching sound, like somebody putting the brakes on in the car.
No serious injuries have yet been reported. Cheshire police are yet to comment on the incident.

Congleton Police have announced the arrest of two elderly people and their deceased grand-child for damaging the front bumper of a car driven by Mr. Allah U. Akbar.
A Police spokes-person, Zhey Chris Butch, said “The Congleton Police will not tolerate the damage of the property of adherents of the Religion of Peace by the shin-bones of racist penshioners”.

The last update from a local English paper was that “they don’t think it is ‘terror-related’”…. Which means nothing given the authorities track record in UK on assigning motive. Their names would been released if the 3 were Archibald Southwick Cavendish III, Reginald Chomindley-Teasdale, and Alfred Boddington Darcy-Arundel..
I will continue to leave the (Muslim?) in my post until we find out otherwise. And we will find out, sooner or later.

The Police have now made 3 arrests & they are in custody. No names yet!
The Police did make this comment,” “Officers remain at the scene, providing a highly visible presence to reassure people. For clarity, this is not being treated as a terror-related incident”

The Police Authority in Wales the day before had heightened the alert level specifically for Christmas Markets.
My guess is that even if there were deaths from the Cheshire attack, neither the PM or Royals would visit the grieving families because it might “offend/other/oppress” a certain “community”…

This may have been a true Miracle as there were reports of 800 townsfolk (mostly families with kids) on the pedestrianized street and not a single death and maybe just one lady with a leg injury . The Citizens of Cheshire should all be in Church today praying for thanksgiving. The Shepherd will protect his Flock from wolves. (And despite living in a world with cellphone cameras being whipped out for every reason or event no matter how banal or stupid… there was not a single video shot by any potential victim????!!!)

Three teenagers arrested after a car went into a pedestrianised area where a Christmas market was being held have been bailed.
Shoppers in Congleton were alarmed when a Volkswagen Golf turned down Bridge Street on Saturday afternoon, Cheshire Police said.
No-one was hurt and the car was later found abandoned.
Two boys, aged 16, and a girl, 15, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
They have been released on conditional bail.
Insp Jim Adams said it was not terror-related and urged witnesses to come forward.
