FAR-LEFT British journalist claims Qatar has become a victim of a widespread media “Islamophobia” campaign
Who needs Muslim ‘perpetual victimhood’ organizations like CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) when we have far-left journalists who will do their work for them?

Never be surprised of the stupidity of the far left…They are just as dangerous as Islam.
1. No hijab except for those who enjoy wearing them.
2. No compulsory prayers.
Irreligion and skeptics should be welcomed within the fold of Islam, like it happens in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, India, and many other countries with a large number of moderate Muslims.
3. Takfir or the practice of excommunicating Muslims should be declared illegal. No Muslim should have the right to kick another person out of Islam just because he/she has different views.
4. Muslims should practice ijtehad independent inquiry about Quran and Hadees instead of relying on so-called scholars.
5. An end to Arabization – Islam was revealed for the whole mankind. If non-Arabs wish to be Muslims, they can practice their beliefs in any language of their choice including English. Learning Arabic should not be compulsory.
Out of the many examples above, I think India has the largest number of such Muslims with a secular outlook.
Javed Akhtar, a Bollywood Muslim script writer, won the 2020 Richard Dawkins Award for his critical thinking. He’s a self-declared atheist.
Now the Richard Dawkins prize (named after its founder a famous atheist) they don’t just hand it over to all and sundry. The nominations are endorsed by scientists and rationalists from all over the world.
Other winners of Richard Dawkins prize: Bill Maher, Christopher Hitchens, Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais, and Neil deGrasse Tyson.
The fact that Mr. Akhtar, a born and raised Muslim won that prestigious honor, and is the only Asian in such elite company.
I personally don’t like atheist belief systems. They’re responsible for most of the problems in the world. But I do support the right of Muslims to be atheists.
Even Muslims here in Singapore can’t openly endorse or promote atheist views. Our government would arrest them for disturbing public harmony.
But in India, so many Muslims have the freedom to openly declare themselves as atheists, freethinkers or whatever.
Is this journalist for real? He says that there is no criticism of Israel during the games that it hosted? What is this guy smoking? Israel has ALWAYS been the subject of criticism, and Israel has ALWAYS been lambasted over every least little thing that it does. It seems to me that, if anything, Qatar has been treated with kid gloves. So yes, Qatar has been treated differently, but not in the way that this journalist thinks.
Well, maybe a better interpretation is that Qatar is at its root a hardcore Islamic fundamentalist society which while trying to be a part of the modern world, still are hogtied to a retrograde and repressive belief system that they feel obligated to abide by. And they can’t make up their minds as to whether they want to be in the modern world or the ancient world. So they try to be a part of both and fail miserably at both.
Bonni, the far-left are in bed with Islam.
Please read this book, it will give you a greater understanding.

I do envy them.

Steve, as Dan just told us, he is a convert to Islam. Makes sense now.
