Calling Malmo city leaders, “tone deaf” in a post on social media, Valley Ghanem (photo below) from the Islamic Academy complains that there are (non-halal) food products being sold at the festival which could be tempting to Muslims who are fasting from dawn to sundown every day during the month of Ramadan. (In other words, selling food to non-Muslims during Ramadan is “Islamophobic”)
Samnytt (h/ Marvin W) Islamakademin is a Sunni-Islamic association in Malmö founded by imam Salahuddin Barakat in 2013, which is partly financed by Malmö city tax funds. Among others, the board includes Valley Ghanem, who also has a past at the Skåne County Board and the Swedish Migration Agency.
Just under a week ago, she published a post with the title “Malmö food feasts and food temptations during Muslim fasting.”
“Every now and then I emphasize that Malmö is at the forefront in terms of diversity and inclusion of its Muslim population, but then the air goes out of my mouth every now and then and I realize that we have a long way to go…”, writes Ghanem. “The fact that Malmö City chooses to hold the International Food Festival in the middle of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadhan cannot be called anything but tone-deaf,” it says further.
According to Ghanem, the Muslims are estimated to reach a third of Malmö’s population, “but still we are non-existent in the city’s planning and thinking”. She is also convinced that Muslim organizations, and Muslims in general, “are discouraged from inhabiting the central parts of the city”.
Last March this year, Ghanem appeared in a report in Sydsvenskan . Then it was the Islamic Academy’s premises that was wrong, or its location more precisely.
– “We have fought to move Islam into central Malmö. There is no reason our religion should only exist in the suburbs. The Muslims are there, but they are also in town. Why do I have to go to Rosengård to pray or meet my congregation? The only reason is Islamophobia, says Valley Ghanem, who sits on the Islamic Academy’s board.”
In October 2022, it was as a researcher and project manager at the anti-racist organization Ammanah in Malmö that she appeared in a report in Expressen . At the time, she believed that unreasonable demands were placed on Swedish-Muslim women – this in reference to the Iranian women’s struggle for freedom.
– “Veil wearers also want to work, go out with girlfriends and not constantly have to be activists. They don’t want to have to represent politics and governments and be responsible for what happens on the other side of the world, she says. “
– “That discourse is driven by people who simply do not care about Iranian women, but rather try to find reasons to criticize Islam and Muslims. But what happens politically in another country has nothing to do with how we practice our religion in Sweden today.”
She then also said that “you cannot support this struggle without supporting its overall Islamophobic agenda which basically has a Western definition of freedom”.

I wonder how long it will take Sweden before they ban all pork products from the country so as not to offend their “newcomers”?
BareNakedIslam says
The depends on how long it takes for Muslims to become 25% to 30% of the total population.

Hope we don’t experience this change. NO MORE SWEDISH MEATBALLS would be a true tragedy. This bigoted Muslime female should go lay an egg, cackle, cackle.
