North Dakata Governor Doug Burgum has signed a bill into law immediately making it a crime to give gender-transitioning healthcare to people younger than 18.
Also in North Dakota, transgender kids and adults won’t be able to access bathrooms, locker rooms or showers that match their gender identity in places like schools, college dorms, or jails, under a new law signed by Republican Gov. Doug Burgum.
And in Arkansas, Republican Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed into a law a bill banning transgenders from using the bathroom or locker room of their choice at all public and charter schools in the state. What’s more, parents will be able to sue the schools if this policy is not strictly enforced.
And in Florida, the Board of Education has banned classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades through 12th, expanding the current law which banned it in grades K through 3rd. The Florida House has passed a bill that would require people to use the public bathroom of their sex at birth. That would apply to areas like educational institutions, healthcare facilities, or any place deemed public under law including lodging, restaurants or gas stations.
And in Kentucky, the Republican majority has passed legislation banning gender-transitioning care for minors, banning trans students from using bathrooms in schools tied to their gender identity, as well as allowing teachers to ignore students’ preferred pronouns.
And in North Carolina, the House passed the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.” House Bill 574 states transgender girls are prohibited from participating in sports that correspond with their gender identity.
And in Kansas, a Republican-sponsored bill that would ban transgenders from competing in women’s sports, ban minors from receiving gender-transitioning healthcare, and ban transgenders from using bathrooms or locker rooms according to their gender identity, which was vetoed by the Democrat Governor, has now been overridden by both the House and Senate.
And in Tennessee, Governor Bill Lee signed legislation banning gender-transitioning healthcare for minors and limiting drag shows for children.
Best of all, there are hundreds of anti-gender transitioning healthcare for minors, anti-trans bathroom/locker room policies, and anti-drag queen children story hour bills being legislated in more than a dozen states across the country.
It is a time to put an end to this. In spite of the cartoon, it is no joke.
