Not surprisingly, a New York City (liberal) jury did NOT give him the death penalty. Sayfullo Saipov, 34, of Uzbekistan, was sentenced to eight consecutive life sentences, two concurrent life sentences, and a consecutive sentence of 260 years in prison for carrying out a terrorist attack on Oct. 31, 2017, in the name of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS), in which Saipov used a truck to murder eight victims and injure many more on a bike path in lower Manhattan.
Justice.gov On Halloween afternoon in 2017, Saipov used a 6,000-pound truck to strike more than 20 innocent people on the Hudson River Bike Path in lower Manhattan. Saipov killed eight of his victims and critically injured many others, including a 14-year-old child. Saipov’s surviving victims suffered amputations, serious brain injuries, life-altering physical injuries, and significant psychological trauma.
Saipov committed his attack after years of devotion to the brutal terrorist organization ISIS and after months of careful planning. In the weeks before his attack, for example, Saipov rented a truck to practice maneuvering it so that he could hit as many people as possible. Saipov brought a note to the attack with the ISIS flag and rallying cry written on it. After his attack, while in custody at a hospital, Saipov told the FBI that he committed the attack in response to calls from the leader of ISIS and that he was proud of what he had done. Saipov smiled when describing his attack and sought to hang the ISIS flag in his hospital room.
In prison, Saipov also made statements confirming his continued belief that enemies of ISIS should be eliminated and threatening to cut the heads off of corrections officers. At the liability and sentencing phases of trial, many of Saipov’s victims and their family members bravely described the terror he caused and the pain and suffering they continue to endure.

Speaking through an interpreter for about 10 minutes, Saipov said the decisions of a U.S. court were unimportant to him. He said he cared about “Allah” and the holy war being waged by the Islamic State…
“So the Islamic State is not fighting for land, like some say, or like some say, for oil. They have one purpose, and they’re fighting to impose Sharia (Islamic law) on earth,” he said.

When it was Saipov’s turn to speak, he did not apologize. Instead, he delivered a lengthy religious speech, spanning from Adam and Eve to the creation of the Islamic caliphate. Through an interpreter, he called “jihad,” or fight against the enemies of Islam, the highest form of prayer.
Saipov closed his speech by saying that he had heard the victims during the trial — that he figured their tears could fill a handkerchief. But he said the tears and blood of killed Muslims could fill the entire courtroom. Then he praised Allah, just as he did at the end of his attack.
Makes one wonder if people “following orders” from a religion whose holy texts command the murder of non-Muslims and the colonization and conquest of their lands really have a place in the United States…much less an American taxpayer funded lifetime of trying to convert other prisoners to his death cult posing as a religion.

Florence Colorado ADX, Unit H, is the perfect place for him. He remains in his cell 23 hours a day with one hour outside in an exercise yard. He has zero communication with other prisoners and no physical interaction with the guards.
ADX is reserved for the worst of the worst. Read the Wiki article where they name many of its inmates. Unsurprisingly, Muslims are over represented.
